Effective Cost Management – review the service providers’ pricing, exploring new service providers and negotiate on the pricing
Yield Management – Periodic Review of rates to customers, analyze the volume of business and increase the rates to get better profitability customer wise
Credit Control - Ensure sales receipts are collected on time as per the credit policy of the company
Recommend for extending credit period to specific customers to encourage additional business volumes
Import of Aircraft spares from various suppliers sourced by purchase team.
Co-ordination with freight forwarder / custom house agent for timely arrival and clearance of materials
Prepare computerized GRN and forward materials to purchase and stores
Prepare and submit outstanding statements on foreign purchase of aircraft spares
Submit foreign payment request to Finance Head and arrange for payment to overseas suppliers as per credit terms.
MANPOWER MANAGEMENT:
To ensure Manpower availability through HR on a sustained basis with at least 90% against budget
To arrange for On-the-job training for new workers and proper induction for new staff
To keep them motivated through various Employee Engagement Programs to be organized by HR
Create performance evaluation measure for all team members, do periodic evaluation of all the staff, identify and reward the best performer in every department
Participate in performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities.
To develop good rapport with the workforce and provide solutions to their grievances
Training & Development – Manpower, Processes & System according to the companies process & procedures
Consistently promote a strong corporate culture, quality and high performance work teams.
Ensure to achieve highest level of productivity with skilled and efficient manpower in the departments / branch
Proper productivity management and ensure availability of resources at all the time as per the business requirement
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
A) GROUND OPERATIONS: (FIRST MILE / LAST MILE)
Responsible for the entire day-to-day operational activities.
Recruit, train and deploy field operation personnel according to the requirement of the geographical area
Route management – Planning of delivery routes, design delivery pattern
Route optimization to ensure cost effective services.
Develop and implement Operational procedures and policies in order to continuously improve the operational efficiency
Ensuring service levels in terms of delivery and collection are met through monitoring of service levels.
Responsible for status updates in the systems for 95% + inbound shipments within two hours from the time of delivery
Interact with customers to ensure service delivery by the team meets required standards and take necessary corrective action.
Ensuring proper resource utilization and rationalization including human resource
Maintain operational daily and monthly data and submit to management for improvement action.
Ensure managing physical facilities, human resources, equipment, and products in a safe, prescribed and profitable manner
Providing customized solutions for different customer segment
Designing Standard Operating Procedure for specialized operations
B) HUB OPERATIONS
Control and monitor the daily activities of Distribution Center / HUB
Ensure effective consolidation for better cost advantage in air transportation
Negotiation with Airline Agents for freight
Co-ordinate with line-haul agents for timely and confirmed uplift of cargo in early available flights
Ensure better co-ordination with international Gate-way hubs for timely connection
Ensure 100% data capture with maximum accuracy for all outbound shipments / timely data transmission to gateway hubs
C) AVIATION OPERATIONS (GROUND HANDLING)/ AIRPORT SERVICES
Responsible for inbound and outbound flight handling
Ensure booking, physical handling, security clearance and carting of loads from extended warehouse
Supervision of unloading of cargo, segregation, and pallet building in co-ordination with ramp supervisor
Ensure the team members adhere to the policies and procedures to ensure high level of safety and security
Implement proper review and risk assessment process on all SOP’s & work practices to identify and eliminate unsafe practices.
Supervision of Trans-shipment of import & export cargo of interline cargo
Ground equipment handling and maintenance to ensure minimal down time
Relationship management with Customs, AAI, Airlines, BCAS, and other business related Agencies
Vendor Negotiation for fleet contract, contract manpower and other equipment hiring
Expenses budgeting for the entire department, and Capital budgeting for capital purchase of ground handling equipment if necessary
Manage Warehouse Operations, manpower requirement, recruit, train the warehouse personnel
Comply with warehouse safety procedures and train the team members on safety and security of warehouse / goods
Customer co-ordination for receiving materials, storing & processing for outbound transportation
Receive inbound materials, storage process and follow-up with end customers for delivery procedures.
Handling of mishandled baggage of international passengers of various airlines on contract
Ensure timely customs clearance by airport team, and delivery of baggage on time
Meeting the SLA’s with Airlines
Setting up of Promotional Kiosks at Airports – Obtain space allocation from AAI, approval and clearance from BCAS etc
D) FREIGHT OPERATIONS (AIR / ROAD)
Understand & develop the local and regional airfreight and ground market.
Identify, qualify, select & Approve Suppliers to meet all operation’s needs.
Make carrier lane selections & review performances objectively as per agreed KPI’s.
Ensure service providers meets all compliance requirements as per SERVICE PROVIDER AGREEMENT and SCPOPE OF WORK
To effectively negotiate attractive pricing with all Service Providers.
Develop innovative programs to effectively reduce transportation costs.
Operate in compliance with National, state, and local statutes
Vendor Negotiations for local, intra & inter-state transportation
Review vendor contracts for renewal / fresh contractors
Project management – Designing, Costing & formulating SOP
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
SALES MANAGEMENT
Leading, mentoring the team and explain the roles and responsibilities of the team members
Developing sales strategies and setting sales targets
Monitoring the individual performance and motivating them to reach targets
Providing feedback and coaching team members.
Formulate sales policies, procedures and practices
