Public Safety Office Manager / Methodist University
Overall my responsibilities covered handling all business office matters of the Public Safety Office and providing administrative assistance to the Chief/Director, Assistant Director, and the Police and Security Lieutenants. I managed all office details ranging from scheduling meetings, answering telephone calls, filing and organizing all type of important paperwork (reports, bills, citations, key authorizations, special passes, personnel files etc). I was also responsible for Division of Criminal Information operations, issuance and production of ID cards and parking permits. Worked with outside vendors for supplies such as creating parking permits. I was also responsible for ordering related supplies for all the divisions within the department and reaching out to vendors. I also over saw the access control/ID card program that is in place for buildings across the campus. I also assisted with developing and creating the online processes that are now used in issuing parking permits, ID cards, appeal forms and Clery report forms.

During this time I was trained as a Security Officer. I learn proper foot and vehicle patrol techniques, vehicle access monitoring, emergency response, CPR, AED, First Aid and crisis communications. I was tasked with managing/filing of all records/reports used throughout the department. I also managed the citations and billing of those citations to the students. In addition to my duties, I had to learn the duties of the Office Manager to cover for her when she was out or the desk needed to be covered.
