My experience includes private practice, institutional settings, human service agencies, residential treatment.facilities and community mental health settings. I have worked with diverse populations and I feel confident In areas of cultural and diversity awareness. Some of my strengths include the ability to work independently, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), life experience and a great sense of humor. I am dependable and resourceful. I am optimistic and always willing to lend a hand; you will never hear me say "That's not my job." I am supportive and open to travel, change and learning new things. I thrive in a fast paced environment. I really enjoy problem solving when given the opportunity. It is my desire to succeed at whatever I am doing, learn from my errors and lift those up around me.
My clinical and diagnostic skills are very strong. Although I do prefer group therapy to individual, I excel at both. Again my clinical back ground is solid; the areas I would like to grow or progress in as a Clinician include; obtaining LPC, BCBA certification and EMDR training. Professionally I would like to build off my undergrad degree and strengthen my Administrative/Super-vision skills to the level of a Director. The purpose not a lone of just making myself more marketable but it is also about the satisfaction of truly understanding intrinsically how it works. Willing to relocate to: Las Vegas, NV - Arizona - Colorado Authorized to work in the US for any employer
Work Experience
Full Time Therapist (Remote)
Elevation Health Services - Phoenix, AZ
May 2021 to November 2021
Most of the clientele have been court ordered to participate in treatment or it is part of their probation. I am currently working with SA, DV, repeat offenders that require a group such as MRT, RP (Relapse Prevention), individual counseling, trauma, grief and anger management. It entails maintaining timely notes, updating the treatment plan, treatment goals, communicating with the client's case manager and their PO, being mindful of their overall attendance and progress and addressing any issues and documenting. The clinician attends 2 staff meetings weekly, submits changes for LOC and communicates needs to case manager that may be a barrier to help assist the client. All meetings, 1:1's and group sessions are facilitated via Zoom.
Juvenile Sex Offender Treatment Specialist

I work with each child's team to ensure continued authorization for stay, DCS and probation providing monthly progress reports, court reports for placement reviews and hearings, monthly CFT's and in person court appearances as appropriate. Out Patient Clinician
Van Buren Community Mental Health - Paw Paw, MI
December 2015 to December 2019
Complete assessments to determine level of care (LOC) and program eligibility via treatment planning . When I wasn't doing ACCESS, I managed a regular caseload of over 100 clients consisting of both adult and juvenile clients to develop treatment plans in order to monitor their progress in areas of trauma, depression, substance abuse, med-compliance for psychosis, anxiety disorders, abuse/neglect, DD and ptsd. Community Mental Health primarily works with SMI individuals (severely mentally ill). Individual and Family Therapy, write progress notes for each session, periodic and annual reviews. Conduct weekly DBT groups (a lot of borderline, bipolar and schizophrenic diagnosis), received training in Seeking Safety, certified in CAFAS, ASAM, TF-CBT, LOCUS, with special focus on SA, suicidal behavior and juvenile cutting.. Work with schools, courts, Parole/Probation Officers, Recovery Court Liaison to ensure compliance. Travel to jail and hospital to conduct assessments, work with families on petition for MH Services. Communicate frequently with Case Management, Psychiatrist, RN or ACT team if mutual clients are involved. Participate in mandatory annual training's and available training's that help to keep me current and knowledgeable in my field.
The clients came from all walks of life; VETS, probation/parolees, self-refered, end stage of life, college students, referrals from the school district that went beyond the scope of the school counselor/SW, parents struggling to maintain control or relationships with their children/family, these are just typical examples.
I had many clients higher-functioning on the spectrum either with autism or asperger and we focused on social ques, anxiety and oddly enough all off them had some form of OCD. I wanted to get a group going in an attempt to introduce their differences and similarities and see how they do as a group helping one another with expressing their feelings and discussing their fears and concerns, because even though they are at different ends of the spectrum it is really interesting that they all share the same common fear of "Being different. ..not fitting in...being or standing out alone." On an individual basis each person still felt they had some sort of special or unique quality or skill and it was suggested or presented in a "matter of fact" fashion and by no means was narcissism or conceit the driving force. It was very refreshing and I would have loved to have had the opportunity to form the group. I believe I am the one who could have learned a lot.
Senior Therapist/Supervisor
Lakeside Academy - Kalamazoo, MI
May 2013 to October 2015
Supervisor/Senior Clinician over clinical staff and interns. Lakeside is a Residential Treatment Facility
(RTF) for juveniles adjudicated and deemed to be a higher risk to re-offend and therefore placed at Lakeside for the secure setting. It is set up very much like a college campus. At times responsibilities included physical restraint of youth. I became certified in (SCM) Safe Crisis Management. Other duties included: intake and assessments, Over see the juvenile Sex Offender (SO) therapy program, conduct individual, group and family therapy in the areas of trauma, substance abuse, anger, fire setting and of course with the SO's, sex offender treatment. Transport youth home for visitation or upon discharge, Submit monthly progress reports to CM and PO's, Advocates and or Guardian. These are examples of basic clinical responsibilities. I also sat on the IRC (incident review committee) when a child was restrained, went AWOL or a review/incident of property damage or employer misconduct. Supervisory responsibilities included conducting interviews, maintaining coverage, performance reviews, discipline/coaching notes, training new hires, supervising interns, reviewing clinicians work by pulling and reviewing documentation, audits and inspections, weekly staff meetings, conflict resolution, arrange training and CEU's. My department budget for workbooks and materials. Accomplishments:
I believe I made a very positive impact on both students and peers. I am big on being solution focused and building on strengths. I designed and implemented a Juvenile Arson Program while at Lakeside, Received certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Level I & II Youth Fire Prevention Specialist, DBT Certificate, Certified 7 Challenges Instructor. I created and implemented a juvenile Fire Starter/Setter Program. There wasn't anything out there and at the time our campus had several students that had been charged with Arson. In addition, playing with fire or starting fires is also a known trait with Sex Offenders and Sociopaths. Lakeside Academy was predominantly all male students; of the eight dorms only one housed girls. I introduced yoga to the dorms that I was the Clinician for and pet therapy for the boys that had more severe cases of abuse and neglect.. Skills Used
All the programs used were evidence based and strength based. Working with these types of programs I usually incorporated CBT and psycho-education. I am trained in DBT as well. Because it was a juvenile population I learned to let the more creative side flow to hold their attention and to do everything possible to empower the kids, because underneath the "juvenile offender" there was still a child that was still very much in need.
From a supervisory perspective, to help decrease auditing errors I had five cases of each Therapist pulled every week just to ensure notes were being done in a timely manner and monitoring the quality. Then prior to JACHO coming all supervisors (case management, program managers, accountants) anyone in a supervisory position participated in a "Mock Audit" which usually took all night. If you were not part of clinical/medical, then you were to simply make sure the packet was in order and every sheet that needed to be in the packet was there and once that was completed, we would inspect the dorms for cleanliness and safety. I really enjoyed the "team approach" and of course everyone knew how important it was to pass the State Inspections.

Additional Information
I am focused and hard working. I understand the importance of confidentiality, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and dedication to the client. I am an effective team player and I believe that a healthy balance must exist within the work place between management and staff to achieve maximum productivity regardless if it is an agency setting, manufacturing or even a large corporate office.
It is my goal to obtain my LPC as soon as possible. I have an LLP in Michigan but AZ does not have an equivalent license so I have started the process and I am waiting to receive information back from Michigan in order to submit my application.
