Career Profile

I am an anaesthetist for six years, who currently works in one of the major Teaching hospital in Sri Lanka. I have gained proper professional training in clinical Anaesthesiology, Critical care medicine and Emergency medicine in 2016, prior to work as a clinical anaesthetist. In my professional career, I was able to work in two different environments which related to the facilities. So first I worked in District general Hospital Mullaitivu Where the human and physical resources were limited and there I gained the skills and capacity to work in any situation while utilizing the maximum effort and resources for effective delivery of patient care towards Emergency care, Intensive care and Anaesthesiology. Most importantly, I could be able to improve my capacity of decision making, team work, and effective utilisation of resources and managing of vast different varieties of clinical presentations in all four major clinical specialities, accordingly, general medicine, surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics and paediatrics as an anaesthetist, for more than three years of period. Then I moved to my current working station, where most of the sophisticated facilities are available for most of the major surgical specialities, Critical care medicine and emergency medicine units where I am everyday gaining my most of the clinical oriented skills and knowledge which gave me the confidence of working in any of the routine environment to emergency situation.
