I am certified as a Bilingual teacher and I can read and write in Spanish fluently. I have 20+ years in this field. I also interact with the Spanish-speaking parents to let them know what is going on. I speak both languages English and Spanish.

Experience

remote working from home

RGCCISD • Rio Grande City, Texas

01/1997 - Present

I started off by being a teacher and I had just graduated from college. I was hired on the spot, in Houston, because I knew both languages. I then moved to where I live (Roma/Rio Grande City) area. When I came over to RGCCISD. I got hired in La Grulla, Texas, and served several years. Then, My Principal, Mr. Joel Trigo offered me a job in another school which happened to be Roque Guerra Elementary. I worked there for several years until my daughter was old enough to go to school. Again, with the same School district, I got hired on the spot by principal Ricardo Saenz, I have always had Spanish-speaking students do translations and help them out academically. Now I am an intervention teacher that helps students that are too behind because of their language barrier. Out of the intervention teachers, I am always picked to work with recent Spanish immigrants.
