Saint Francis Medical Center is a 308 bed, large community hospital that provides all services, to include the only Trauma center between St. Louis and Memphis, TN. The catchment area for Saint Francis includes five states and approximately 715,000 lives.
Director of Nursing – Emergency & Trauma Services
Reporting to CNO; Scope of Practice has included: 240 ftes, Oversight for Emergency and Trauma, ICUs, Covid, Family Birth Place, Pediatrics, Inpatient Dialysis, Emergency Management, and Providers: ED, Hospitalist, Intensivists, and Neonatologists
Responsible for patient flow and care management across the Hospital from Emergency department visit through inpatient discharge
Overhauled the Professional Advancement Program for Nursing, expanded to include other job classes
Daily operations and oversight for all departments, 266+ employees which includes providers

The flagship hospital for Intermountain is a 507 bed tertiary center. This is the largest and busiest hospital in the State with a 57 bed Emergency Department- Level 1 Trauma center with 93K ED visits annually.
Nurse Manager 5 - Emergency Department
Reported to Regional Director; FTEs 230; Oversight for the Emergency department to include budgetary responsibility- P&L, Worked hours/UOS, etc. Worked directly with the ED Medical Director for physician engagement and daily performance measures (contracted group).
Led the daily operations to include operational expense budget, staffing, education/training, and crucial conversations
Achieved a 1.4% budgetary reduction for the 2017 budget
Fully staffed the department and reduced turnover by 34% down to 5%, increase employee morale and staff engagement by 39%.
Decreased current length of stay in the ED by 30 minutes and decreased left without treatment by 2.4%.
