Dear Dave,
Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the NM home school dept.
I am interested in being put on your tutors list as a tutor for mathematics and sciences.
I hold a Bachelors Degree including 60+ hours in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, and Differential Equations from New Mexico State University, UNM, University of Houston, The University of Texas at Austin and Metro State University where I took math history and geometry to qualify for my Initial Teachers License.
I hold a Masters degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
I scored an excellent score on the mathematics Praxis exam which earned me an endorsement in Secondary Mathematics on my Co educators license.
I have tutored a diverse student population from Calculus to special needs students from Texas, Colorado and New Mexico. I tutored a sight impaired young lady for her Calculus exam in which I taught Calculus to her. She scored a 4+ other exam at Cherry Creek High School at Denver< Co. I have tutored a number of AP calculus students from Los Alamos High School. I have tutored students in pre algebra, geometry Algebra, Pre-calculus, AP calculus and calculus all with great results for the students.
I have worked with home school students in small groups in Algebra and Geometry in which I taught them the academic content so they could graduate from high school.
I charge $35 per hour but am offering a package of 10 1 hour sessions for $200.
I can meet on line or in person with local students.
Could you please forward my information to the appropriate persons and put my name on a tutors list if you have one.
You might have families who are interested in hiring a math and science tutor.
Could I tutor one on one or in small groups without an educators license?
George Price
