Medical trainees teaching responsibilities
Develop and present lectures on a variety of core neonatology topics including ventilator management, whole body cooling in HIE, BPD, surfactant and steroid use, neuromuscular disorders, placenta, and cord in the NICU to faculty, pediatric residents, and medical students during their neonatology rotations
Instructor NRP simulation program. Role: Leading residents, medical students, nurses, and other health professionals in neonatal resuscitation including emergency airway management, line placement and debriefing after simulation sessions
Instructor THE S.T.A.B.L.E Program. Role: Present lectures on Post-resuscitation, Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants to Neonatologists, paramedics, primary care physicians, nursing staff and residents.
Developed and presented to faculty and fellows the 2015 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC)
Lead in Morbidity and Mortality in our NICU Unit to help identify systemic weakness in our unit and advance measures to correct them.
Facilitator in welcoming new fellows. I developed and presented to the new neonatology fellows the expectations and skills set required to be a successful fellow in training
Co-editor of resident NICU handbook, a resource for residents on their NICU rotation with information about common neonatology illness and management.
