Interests

For approximately twenty years I have been working with policy and bringing about change. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills, I can absorb complex information and present it to different audiences in a clear and accessible way. I have always strived to build on relationships with a range of people holding different views with my expansive interpersonal skills. I have also been providing masters level clinical supervision for approximately five years and can provide supervision in the State of Virginia and Texas. I also enjoy making lasting and authentic connections with others and strive for meaningful conversations.

Qualifications

Policy development, revision, review, and policy committee development for large organizations including the United States Military and both outpatient and inpatient mental health facilities. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the School of Public Policy at The University of Texas at San Antonio with specialized experience including conducting individual and group psychotherapy, marriage and family counseling; organizing, managing, and administering adult, child and family prevention and outreach services; interviewing clients to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues, provide professional assistance to them, and determine appropriate referral services/opinions; and in planning and implementing professional community organizational strategies and initiatives; formulating of needs assessments, development of prevention programs, and marketing of developed programs. I have been working alongside people on their path to healing for almost ten years, and I have found that by meeting people exactly where they are at and for who they truly are, the healing can be both rewarding and groundbreaking. I am a trauma-informed, patient-centered therapist, trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, and I also utilize trauma-centered and mindfulness approaches.
