North Mississippi Medical Center Positions: May 2, 2002 to present listed below

Director of Emergency Services NMMC – Tupelo, MS 1-662-***-**** (March 8, 2016 to present) My role as nurse manager evolved in the director of emergency services due to successful management on the unit and achievement of multiple goals. Currently working for a level II fifty eight bed ER that is on mark for all core measures and benchmarking. I manage 184 employees. I am responsible for the ER, Trauma Program and transfer center. Leadership responsibilities include management of large budget, employee relations, policy and procedures, enterprise project for system wide logistics center, trauma program regulations and community involvement. Extensive knowledge of Press Ganey and patient satisfaction training. Labor Management staffing certification along with other leadership credentialed courses.

Nurse Manager North Mississippi Medical Center NMMC – Tupelo, MS – Phone: 1-662-***-**** (April 15, 2015- March 8, 2016 promoted). Promoted to nurse manager of a 58 bed level II emergency department with 171 staff members. When I took leadership of the department there was a large staffing vacancy, patient satisfaction percentile in the single digits, long lengths of stays and a negative impression in the community. Within three months of implementing changes on the unit the unit was drastically making changes that were quite impressive. I was able to eliminate boarding of inpatients in the department, fill all open positions and start patient satisfaction scores in a positive upward trend and decrease length of stay. The length of stay for door to door went from 226 minutes to 134 minutes. I worked to develop a fast track area and a provider in triage process for decompression of the lobby during high volume times. The LWBS ratio went from 4.3 percent to .7 percent over the course of the next year in a 90k visit a year ER. Staffing retention improved through the development of FEMA training, trauma academy, bed czar position, CEN recognition program and RN advancement. Patient satisfaction scores went from the single digits to the upper 80s through the launch of several initiatives to improve patient satisfaction. The ER has been so successful that we are frequently selected to do networking for Press Ganey, and have presented our throughput concepts at several conferences winning second place at the last presentation in New Orleans. By working with inpatient nursing there no longer are any inpatients boarded in the emergency department which was accomplished through several policy changes and implementations of new strategy. During my term as nurse manager we did not have a director for the department which meant I managed several director responsibilities as well including departmental budget, daily revenue analysis, and purchases for department and monitored our financial ledger.

RN Team Leader North Mississippi Medical Center NMMC – Tupelo (March 1, 2011 to April 15, 2015). I accepted a full time position with NMMC Emergency room in November of 2011. I worked as a team leader for a level II fifty eight bed emergency room. I managed approximately 25 staff members on the rotation. I could not be prouder of the nurse’s I serve. I have done an exceptional job in inspiring them to reach our department goals, their personal goals and to strive to give our patients the highest quality healthcare available. I keep a skills book in the office and require each of them to teach their co-workers skills and new technology. I keep a brag book of all of their accomplishments and praise from their patients. I am extremely organized, have a strong work ethic and take pride in our emergency room. Together we have created an amazing shift to the point some patients actually call to see if we are there before they come. Supervisor was Wanda DellaCalce and Bill Ricketts.

RN Care Flight North Mississippi Medical Center NMMC – Tupelo, MS – Phone 1-662-***-**** (July 6, 2006 to March 20, 2013) I continued to work in the emergency room as a registered nurse however I also was offered a position with our flight team. I managed critical patients under the guidance of our medical control doctor. It was an honor to serve NMMC as a representative with Care Flight. I have impacted many patients on a positive level and cared for them during very difficult events in their life. During my course as a flight nurse I developed intubation, IO and further deepened my knowledge of critical care patient management. I became skilled in advanced assessment and delivering appropriate care to critical patients while transporting them to definitive care. Supervisor Jim Spruiell – Deceased current Chief Flight Nurse Ben Richards

RN Emergency Room North Mississippi Medical Center NMMC – Tupelo, MS 1-662-***-**** (March 15, 2004 to March 11, 2011 promoted to charge nurse). The NMMC Tupelo Emergency Room was the environment that spoke to me. I quickly adapted to the fast paced multi-tasking skills that are required of an emergency room nurse. I was able to manage multiple patients and had critical thinking and reasoning skills to prioritize patient care needs. During my time as an ER nurse I received multiple praises, patient compliments and excelled in patient care. My skills range from management of critical care patients, trauma patients, moderately ill patients and fast track care. Highly skilled in adult and pediatric IV line insertion. RN ICU Northwest Medical Center – Winfield, AL – Phone: 205-***-**** (August 18, 1999 to May 2, 2002). I worked in ICU and floated to all other areas of the hospital. I was responsible for critical patients and worked as a bedside nurse in their ICU. During slower times in ICU I would float to other areas of the hospital. This was an amazing opportunity to learn about the hospital units and cross train to several departments. I frequently worked with the med-surg floor, emergency room, labor and delivery unit, and NICU. By cross training to these departments I was able to become a very well rounded and experienced RN. I eventually missed keeping the critical patients and applied for NMMC to be involved in a more challenging environment. Supervisor Gloria Horne.
