Throughout the years of working for the Philadelphia Department Prisons. I have developed communication skills, open-mindedness, stress management skills, self-discipline, analytical skills, teamwork, and problem solving.

Corrections involve enforcing the rules and regulations within a correctional setting. One of my sole duties was to make myself aware of everything happening within my workplace; this includes checking for breaches in security, contraband, strange behaviors, and illegal activities. By using intervention early this can keep yourself and the inmate's population safe.

A resolute correctional officer can keep the facility working smoothly and can motivate others to do their job as well.

Part of daily operations includes performing a daily headcount which is necessary to supply accountability, distribution of daily essentials to keep inmates healthy while under PDP care, being able to recognize and find individuals who are in crisis and make the necessary referrals, professional and detailed computer log entries.

Providing; social, mental, and medical help as needed, accountability for armory, keys, main control, hospital trips, transporting inmates.
