·Organized and directed the visit of Mr. Adolf Ogi, former President of Switzerland and Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General on Sport for Development and Peace to the KSU Convocation Series. This event established in his honor, the Adolf Ogi award for KSU student/athletes demonstrating exceptional community service.

·Presenter at the ILO/Universitas Youth Sport Program in both Albania and El Salvador.

·Recipient of the “Seizing the Momentum Award” from Kennesaw State University for developing the initiative with the ILO/Universitas program

1987 to 2002- Director of International Sports and Head Track and Cross Country Coach at Life University in Marietta, Georgia

·Planned and managed construction of a $3 million sport training facility used for 7 international, national track and field events for pre and post 1996 Olympic Games. The stadium included a man made sand dune that I designed for intensive resistance training and a five mile cross country trail.

·Directed numerous sport coaching programs including one with Olympic Solidarity of the IOC which trained developing national coaches from seventeen countries during residential encampment.

·Directed Pre-Olympic events including two international track and field meets for over 60 national teams and Pre-Olympic training camps for numerous nations.

·Organized a 12 day seminar, and directed video production of “Preparation of the Elite Athlete.” The event brought forty experts from around the world to determine the most advantageous way to train athletes and what research supported these endeavors.

·Directed two televised track and field meets at Life University stadium for the United States Track Coaches Association with NCAA Division 1, II and NAIA national leading University teams.

·Assisted in organization of NAIA national 1995/96 outdoor track and field championships at the Life University Stadium.

·Formed the first cross country and track teams at Life University, while organizing a post collegiate team whose members qualified for the US 1992 Olympic trials (one runner. Charles Marsalla), at one point had the fastest time in the world for the 1500 meters)

·As Head Cross Country and Track Coach, my teams won 10 national NAIA Championships, including a record five in a row. This included the only university in NAIA history to complete the Triple Crown (winning cross country/indoor and outdoor track in a single year). I was named NAIA national Coach of the Year on three occasions, and recruited and coached over a hundred men and women to All American status. Results enabled school to rank well in the annual Sears Cup analysis of outstanding collegiate programs. My cross country teams won 10 straight State of Georgia titles and my male runners have recorded the top 15 times ever at the Georgia State Meet.

1987 to 1988 Director of International Programs at the Heritage Group an International sport marketing company in Williamsburg, Virginia.

·Brokered sport promotions and wrote curriculum educational guides

·This group was an outgrowth of the running division of International Management Group (led by Drew Mearns) who had promoted a number of my running books and engaged running programs at elite resorts

1981 to 1986 Head Cross Country and Distance Coach- Georgia Tech

·My teams broke every school track relay record in one season, and I started the first women's cross country and track program in the University's history.

·Directed, in coordination with Mayor Andrew Young's office and the United States Information Agency, A Pre-Olympic Track and Field Camp, prior to the 1984 Los Angeles Games for 100 athletes, coaches and managers from 10 nations. Subsequently, I was named the National Coach of Somalia for the L.A.Games.

The video of the camp was used as a prelude to the Atlanta Olympic Games bid and helped keep many African nations in the Soviet boycotted L.A. Games.

Recruited Susan Ingram, the first women scholarship athlete in Georgia Tech history

·Organized and coached an annual summer track and field camp.

1970 to 1981 Director of the Esalen Sports Center of Esalen Institute in Big Sur and San Francisco, California

·Developed and instructed courses in personal growth and development. Created and developed workshops and seminars in performance enhancement and peak performance.

·Original formulation of the “inner game” approach to sports performance with Tim Gallwey, Bob Kriegel and George Leonard

·Directed numerous large conferences including one innovative event of note held at the University of Oregon sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts and then Professional International Track Association from which the film “Extraordinary Powers” was produced for television.

·Organized the visit of world famous and legendary coach Percy Wells Cerutty of Australia to the United States. I am the last person to have studied with and received a diploma from him for coaching his techniques

·Taught successful “Beyond Jogging” workshops at both Esalen centers and in world class hotels and resorts such as the Princess Hotels in the Bahamas, and Mexico, as well as Sea Pines Resort, in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Research and Research Projects:

·(1999)A separate study was completed with noted researcher Dr. Richard Telford, of the Australian Institute of Sports, on the effects of heat and humidity leading up to the Atlanta Olympic Games. The target was to find how long and in what capacities athletes could adjust to these weather conditions and how long it took to acclimate to the climate in the Southeastern United States. It was determined that this process took 7 to 10 days and that teams should adjust their schedules to meet this requirement.

·(2003)Study conducted with Finnish Junior Olympic Track Team, and Swedish National Swim Team. During these investigations, athletes were randomly divided into experimental and control groups and licensed chiropractors did placebo and sham adjustments. Finnish athletes (14) were randomly assigned to experimental, placebo and control groups. The athletes who received daily chiropractic adjustments slept on an average one hour longer than runners in sham or control groups. The Swedish Swim Team (n=14) investigation determined the effect of chiropractic care and diaphragmatic breathing on jet lag. These studies were jointly conducted and published by scholars from Finland and Sweden.

·(2013) Publication for periodization and sport specific mental training with Dr. David Moreau of the Human Memory Laboratory at Princeton, University as well as abstract accepted for world sport psychology conference in China for summer 2013.

Ongoing--President of the International Athletic Center of Atlanta (IACA) – a 501(c) (3) from 1991 a non-profit NGO that sets up international sport programs and exchanges to assist athletes coaches, and team organizations. The Center has contracted and consulted with Mexico and organized regional conferences for short and long term planning.

·Founder and Director of two charter schools- Otherways, Berkeley School System and Project Artuad, San Francisco School System.

·Trained with legendary Hungarian Track Coach Mihlay Igloi, Santa Monica Track Club and one of only twenty to earn Master Coaching Certificate from Percy Cerutty's International Health, Athletic and Fitness Centre in Portsea, Australia.

·Held the mile and two mile record and won numerous cross-country honors while on full scholarship at Syracuse University.

·Set numerous running records at Lyndhurst High School in New Jersey including the mile run and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame for track, cross country and basketball..
