Senior Assistant – Dispatch & Stores ( shipping & warehouse ) at AMUL, Kheda Satellite Dairy (Jul 2001 – Dec 2020)
Amul is an Indian dairy cooperative union (KDCMPU Ltd), established in 1946 and based in Anand, India. It was Amul, who stimulated India’s White Revolution, which made the country the world’s largest producer of milk and milk products. The total milk processing capacity is 36 million liters per day with an annual turnover of over USD 5 billion. As a Senior Assistant – Dispatch & Stores, my responsibilities were as under:
Manage team of 12, schedule shifts and conduct performance appraisal of team members.
Work with management teams to observe disciplinary issues, attendance, skill upgrade and performance of direct reports.
Keep the team motivated and conduct team building activities – reduced the overall loading and unloading time and thereby reduced the handling cost of shipping and receiving per product line.
Ensure the team operates under work safety standard and wears helmet, safety glasses, steel toed boots, high viz vests etc.
Handling forklift, pallet jack and hand truck for stock movement from warehouse to shipping dock.
Coordinate with Chief Engineer/ Maintainer Supervisor and ensure that the forklifts, scissor lifts, power pallet jack, and metal detectors are sent for periodic maintenance and servicing.
Perform periodic physical checks of finished goods stock (ambient, frozen and refrigerated) and ensure they are stored at the defined temperature as per the food safety compliance.
Hourly monitoring of the cold store temperature and immediately report any temperature fluctuations that may deteriorate or compromise the finished product quality.
Prepared monthly stock reports and charts using quantitative and statistical methods.
Coordinate with PPC, Production and Quality departments for material dispatch.
Adept in using ASRS –Automatic storage and retrieval system.
Preparing Sales Invoice, Stock transfer invoices & Returnable & Non-Returnable Challan through SAP system.
Perform periodic check of the fire extinguishers, fire alarms and other emergency safety equipment that are allotted to our department.
