Resume:

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Bachelor of Architecture, I have training in analytic methods and in spatial relationships. During my professional architectural degree studies, I recognized the potential of computer applications for design and spatial analysis. Elective courses in computer programming were pursued; these were utilized when I was assigned to a research laboratory for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and I programmed the accessing and display of three-dimensional geologic data. Subsequent work experience for professional firms provided me with the background necessary to obtain a Professional Engineer's registration in Civil engineering and an Architects license (both now retired). My advancement to an Engineer at Dames & Moore - URS, consulting environmental engineers, provided additional experience to function as a productive manager on a wide range of assignments.

At Dames & Moore (Now URS) I implemented GIS technology, roughly contemporary with the early Environmental Systems Research International (ESRI) development time frame. I provided hands on design and programming providing a unified system including:

• Digitizer data capture • Coordinate transformations and editing

• Database structure • Graphic presentation

• Raster cell-based abstractions • 2D and 3D Raster graphic display

• Satellite data importing • Impact and least cost spatial modeling The software system was utilized on significant projects for such clients as:

• Department of Energy • Environmental Protection Agency

• Western Area Power Admin • General Public Utilities

• Department of State • Department of Defense

At Dames & Moore working with inter disciplinary application teams from industry, the USFS, BLM and National Park Service, I contributed to various environmental projects, including spatial analysis for power transmission line routing. I personally presented status reports to the Seattle EPA project review committee for the phased redevelopment plan for a Super Fund site. My experience includes:

• Interfacing with clients and agencies,

• Their associated technical staff

• The availability of public and private data sources and formats

• Development of project methodology and QA certification of spatial modeling

• Graphic documentation products

• Final report draft preparation, approval reviews and production I held the appropriate security clearance for a classified data reduction and mapping project for the Department of Defense. The clearance is no longer active. When Dames & Moore - URS reorganized to go public, I left to become their sole source GIS consultant with the firm’s transition to the ESRI mapping product line. My most recent employment has capitalized on the exercising of engineering and environmental analysis. Of potential application to almost any assignment is my involvement and experience in Quality Assurance. The 'QA' mentality incorporates attention to detail and documented procedures. I look forward to involvement in significant and challenging projects where spatial decisions matter.
