Summary

With a BA in Business Administration, and a major in Accounting, I have extensive experience in business, accounting, finance, investing, homebuilding, & real estate. After college, I began my career with Touche Ross & Co. (Deloitte & Touche) in the audit and tax departments. I have been a staff accountant for a large homebuilder in Texas, and I have owned and operated several business. I designed and built my own home, remodeled a number of homes, and listed and sold homes and homes on land as a real estate broker in the Denver Metro Area.

Accomplishments

Security Professional: I am currently employed at Allied Universal Security, and the Charles Schwab campus in Lone Tree, CO.

Auditing: I was a member of a team that performed audits on several large corporations. My job was to follow an audit program, looking for signs of fraudulent activities. I also created the audit programs and performed solo audits on several small businesses.

Staff Accountant: Extensive experience in General Ledger, A/P, A/R, Journal Entries, Financial Statement Preparation - Month-End and Year-End Close, Payroll and Payroll Reports, and Tax Return Preparation.

Land Development Inventory: As a staff accountant for a large homebuilder in Texas, I was tasked with creating a land development inventory for land purchased and subdivisions developed over the previous 25 years. I worked with the engineering department, accumulating development costs: equipment costs for site work, utilities - water and electricity, roads - asphalt, concrete curbs and sidewalks. I created the procedure to reconcile a multi-million dollar bank account.

Site Work Contractor: Oversaw the operation of a site work company,

including office administration, bank relations, personnel management, computer accounting, financial statements, payroll, and tax preparation.

Real Estate: I was a licensed Real estate broker selling and listing properties in the Denver Metro Area, including homes and homes on acreage, and commercial properties.

Real Estate: Worked as a real estate broker in the Denver Metro Area from 2002-2008. I began with Keller Williams 2002-2004, then Exit Realty 2004-2006, & Prudential Colorado Real Estate 2006-2008.

Entrepreneur: Created and operated Specialized Home Care, 1997 to 2001, managing a team of workers that performed cleaning services for banks, businesses, resort properties, and private residences in Estes Park, CO.

I operated Eckhardt Construction Co, a commercial sitework company, with my husband in San Antonio, Tx, and Bonsall, CA – 1980-1993.

Accounting: I worked as an accountant 1976-1980: Touche Ross & Co, 1976-1978, Ray Ellison Homes - 1978-1980.
