SQUAD LEADER I was an Infantry squad leader on multiple occasions throughout an 18 month work up. As a squad I made plans for assigned missions and carried out the orders issued by platoon commander. I was also responsible for the discipline, training, control, care, and economical and effective use of its weapons and equipment and accountability of 13 Marines.
APL (Assistant Patrol Leader) as an APL team leader I controlled the movement and fires of the individuals within my team. As a team leader I served as a grenadier and used my M203 to mark targets by smoke for my team or neutralize or destroy while using both my M4 and M203.
