EXPERIENCE
Amazon Seattle, Washington · June 2021 to Sept. 2021 UX Research Intern
- Conducted foundational research within a 3 month time frame to understand mobile voice assistant usage and define new customer opportunities and needs in order to increase engagement with the Alexa mobile app.
- Provided new recommendations via a written report for the Alexa mobile app by analyzing over 100 diary study entries submitted by customers who use either Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant, or the Alexa mobile app. Data will be used for follow-up interviews and inform future design decisions. UX Designer
- Collaborated with a small business owner by visually designing a restaurant app. Presented user research findings and recommendations in order to optimize an efficient online food ordering experience.
- Designed and launched a survey to 40+ customers who had multiple experiences ordering food online. Hosted follow-up 1:1 interviews with select customers to better understand common pain points and friction during the online ordering experience. Kids & Art Remote · Feb. 2021 to May 2021
Design Research Intern
- Performed concept testing for the upcoming Kids & Art progressive web app via interviews and survey questions. Ensured design concepts correspond to the emotional needs of Kids & Art's cancer patients and their families.
- Launched a survey and hosted interviews with children between the ages of 8-18 in order to analyze data used to inform the progressive web app's design decisions. Presented data to the team's engineers and PMs while data was implemented within design decisions.
PROJECTS
Frame-it Sept. 2021 to May 2022
- Facilitated the end to end design of an automated, project-management plugin to help structure team conversations during conflict.
- Interviewed design and research practitioners to clarify the problem statement which then determined viable design concepts. Visually designed a solution via a working prototype and video. Google Mentor Mar. 2021 to Mar. 2021
- Conducted a week long, end to end design sprint including user research, concept testing & ideation, and visual design for Google's 2021 Design challenge.
- Executed high-fidelity screens for a mobile app concept that responds to the user needs of incoming college students.
Zoom University July 2020 to Dec. 2020
- Executed a self-driven exploratory research project by defining differences in interactions between online and in person learning. Proposed actionable steps for increasing communication via online learning.
- Hosted 15, 1:1 interviews with college students and professors to analyze their pain points and needs through online learning. Visually presented data and recommendations to design professors and my Advanced Research class.
