EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science Degree, Illinois State University - Business Administration
Master’s Degree in Cyber Security from Washington University, St Louis
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Currently work at JJ’s Restaurant in O’Fallon, Missouri. My friend owns the business and I have increased productivity in the kitchen by 25% by implementing lean concepts. I have reduced rework and duplication of effort throughout the restaurant by over 30%.
Boeing Training Systems
Consultant on the MH-139, KC-46, F-18, F-15 and AH-64 Training Systems. I wrote POSH scripts to streamline the installation of new software updates, reducing loading time by 40%. I updated 12 processes to conform to modern software principles, Agile and SAFe.
Retired from Boeing February 2020.
While retired, I travelled to Minnesota and canoed down the upper Mississippi River. I slept on sand bars and met a lot of great people, many whom I still keep in contact with. I also taught my granddaughter how to fish. She caught more fish than I did last summer. I spent several months in Southern Illinois repairing a 100 year old house I own. Replaced the roof, painted the inside and outside, did a lot of plumbing work and am now renting it to a young couple.
Weapons and Missiles Systems
Hardware Configuration Management for the Harpoon Missiles Systems. I provided hardware configuration management for the five internal Harpoon missile program teams. I facilitated Change Boards to approve proposed engineering modifications and validated Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). I was the liaison with our Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) focal to ensure the ECPs were approved in time to meet the production schedule. 98% of the ECPs I approved were incorporated into production.
I created Harpoon Master Listings (HMLs) for all of the current international customers. The HML reflects the current configuration and status of their systems. This is a continuous process that requires constant coordination with our international country managers in order to keep the status current.
Boeing Human Resource Systems
Software Configuration Management (SCM) for Boeing’s Human Resource Systems (HRS). I provide SCM support for all HRS applications. I was the focal for Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) for numerous HRS programs. I designed and implemented the code repository, setting up their TFS instance and Build controllers. I managed numerous file shares and used Active Directory to grant access to users with proper “need to know”. I did the same task on the mainframe using RACF. Every six months, I would audit the users to ensure they still required access to the file share or system.
Boeing Apache Training Systems
Hardware and Software Configuration Manager for the Apache Longbow Training Systems. I performed software configuration management activities on the ClearCase/ClearQuest. I held daily meetings to review software Change Requests. I compiled approved changes into our overall software baseline. I maintained over 45 distinct software baselines required to operate the Apache Longbow training devices. I worked closely with the Project Managers, Systems Engineers, Software Engineers and Test Engineers to ensure the released product is of the highest quality possible. I provided Configuration Status Accounting to the United States Government reports, to ensure acceptance. I had 100% acceptance on all of my deliverables.
I was the Export Control focal for Apache Training Systems from 2006 to 2009. I worked with the Boeing Export Management personnel to ensure all of our exports were done in accordance with Boeing and the US State Department regulations.
I was responsible for creating the software retrofit kits for 32 Longbow Crew Training fielded around the world. I worked with Boeing Security Services to ensure that all classified media is delivered to the appropriate military personnel at each site and that the media is properly safeguarded.
Boeing Aerospace Operations
Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the F-15 Training Device Acquisition and Support (TDAS) team. Ensured the TDAS team operated in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) guidelines. Implemented processes and procedures which allowed us to gain Defense Security Services (DSS) accreditation on our new classified network. I maintained the TDAS classified network at over 99% operational readiness. Upgraded the classified network from Windows NT to Windows Server 2003 and added twenty Windows workstations to the network to replace the existing Sun workstations. Resolved licensing issues on numerous essential software packages required to continue development on the weapons trainer.
Amdocs Inc.
Senior Software Engineer in a multi-tiered environment using Power Builder / “C” for the on-line applications and COBOL / “C” for the batch applications. The system was built on a UNIX platform with Oracle as the primary database. The purpose of our software is to provide financial servicing for Tele-Communications companies.
I worked extensively on the Billing, Accounts Receivable and Collections systems and their interface with the on-line applications. I analyzed customer requirements and design system changes to increase functionality, improve performance and eliminate deficiencies found during testing. I was responsible for creating and maintaining Oracle tables, writing shell scripts to run batch processes, making code changes and coordinating the activities of a team of four programmers to ensure the project stays on schedule.
I provided system support for our product through all phases of the software life cycle, especially during unit, integration and user acceptance testing. I often traveled to the client site to ensure a smooth implementation of new software versions and to assist in defining the scope of new requirements.
I worked extensively with our clients’ business analyst to convert their existing production data from DB2 tables on a Mainframe platform to Oracle tables on a UNIX platform to be used for the unit and integration testing of new versions. This required a thorough knowledge of how the data is currently used by their legacy system and how it relates to our system.
Officer, United States Army
Established, organized and commanded the first Air Defense Artillery battery for the Opposing Forces (OPFOR) Regiment at the U.S. Army National Training Center (NTC). I reported directly to the Regimental Commander of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR). I had 62 soldiers assigned to my platoon and was responsible for 20 HMMVs and four M551 Sheridan tanks.
As the Assistant Operations Officer of the 11th ACR, I served as the liaison between the OPFOR and the Observer/Controller groups for the Armored and Aviation units rotating through the NTC. I briefed the commanding officers of the Armored and Aviation units on the OPFOR strategy at their After Action Reviews (AAR) after every ‘battle’. We never lost a battle.
As a platoon leader in the 7th Infantry Division, I assisted in the design and testing of a software package which configured the loading and positioning of personnel and cargo on military aircraft. The implementation of this system reduced the time needed to properly configure the loading of cargo from forty-eight hours to three, which drastically increased the 7th IDs reaction time to threats.
