Ursuline Academy of Dallas High School Science Teacher – Dallas TX July 2013-Present

●Taught AP Biology, Biology Honors, Environmental Science, and Anatomy and Physiology for 11th and 12th-grade students.

●Lead the biology team to implement a curriculum emphasizing 21st-century science skills such as data gathering, visualization, connection, and deduction. The curriculum is intentionally constructed to reach different learning styles. Design and evaluate authentic assessments to measure a variety of different skills. Lead weekly meetings with team members to evaluate progress and share best practices.

●Collaborate with other science teachers to develop a horizontally and vertically aligned curriculum.

●Continuously redesigning AP Biology lessons with the utmost requirements from College Board. Offering optional weekly additional preparation for the AP Biology exam. During the past five years, successfully increased the AP Biology exam passing rate to 100% for my students.

●Moderate the “Students Reaching Out” program, where students embody the spirit of “Serviam” by planning, cooking, and serving dinner once a month to 60+ residents in an HIV+ residential home.

●Regularly employed by College Board for summers. By evaluating and grading FRQ responses based on strict guidelines, I gain firsthand experience with current AP requirements to prepare my students for their exams.
