WORK EXPERIENCE 1

From 2006 to 2016 worked as a Truck Driver for Food Program Management Unit, Project for the Government and the World Food Program which distribute food and non-food items to various destinations across Zambia.

Responsibilities

To supervise the loading and unloading of cargo, and Securing the load before departure and monitoring it’s safe distribution through out the trip.

Planning the route before departure and finding the quickest and safest route to destination.

Complying with the loading rules and regulations of resting periods and weight restrictions. Logging in vehicle log sheet all the time.

Handling and Accounting for funds for fuel when travelling long distance

Carry out regular Truck checks and inspect tyres, lights, brakes and other equipment to make sure they are all in good condition

Safely transport goods to and from distribution centers.

Responsible for providing vehicle service in the area of fuel, water, oil and other requirements

Delivering and collecting of mails and ensure that steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvements in an accidents

To clean vehicles and carry out other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor WORK EXPERIENCE 2

Maize mopping from all satellite Depots in Western Province.

Servicing the ten ton truck when it’s due for service .

Transportation of food and non-food items across the country of zambia.

Basic Knowledge in mechanics and am able to do related duties like vehicles service, assess vehicle for mechanical fitness and skills in repairing any type of suspension system, tyre mending, vehicle maintenance etc.

Able to work long irregular hours and remain forcust through out.

Excellent map reading skills & good knowledge of roads

Knowledge of vehicle loading capacity and other parameters

Basic knowledge in First Aid

Knowledge of safety standards and safety equipment as I did a course in Hazchem

Skills in Defensive driving
