Objective and Personal Summary
Objective: Students are my main priority in teaching instrumental music. One of the main goals is for the students to learn new ways to express their emotions and creativity during a performance while using the Cross Curriculum Content Standards and the higher levels of thinking of Bloom’s Taxonomy. As a world musician performing on over 20 instruments, teacher, and composer; I can bring new opportunities for students to learn, create, and perform in various genres of music using a computer compositional program. Personal Summary: An energetic, experienced and creative music teacher with a proven ability to get the very best out of pupils. An expert at identifying the appropriate resources required for a subject matter of music and then ensuring that they are used efficiently, effectively and safely. Able to demonstrate and encourage high standards of professionalism from all staff and having a capability to support aspiring young musicians. Teaching Experience

The program was non-existent only having 6 students in 2009 with a two music ensembles of Concert and Pep Band. Currently the program has over 60 students performing in over 9 different ensembles and a whole new Board approved curriculum implemented, created, and written by me. The school original budget for my department was $0 for supplies, music, and Instruments. I have brought in over $30,000 worth of instruments for the students to use, and spend about $2,000 on a yearly basis for supplies. Using Finale 2014, I have arranged over 100 selections of music that were performed by the many different music groups.
On May 30, 2014, the Jazz Ensemble competed for the 1st time in over 20 years in the Music in the Parks Festival. The musicians worked very hard as a team to WIN 1st place in the Double A Division. 3 of recent graduates have been accepted to play in the Marines Band and 2 this upcoming year will be auditioning to become Music Education Majors.
