ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: MECHANICAL
ESTIMATION&TENDER ENGINEER
Perform detailed calculations to compute & establish manufacturing specifications.
Check quantities of tender BOQ & compare with his takeoff quantities from the drawings.
Prepare and send for RFQ from suppliers and sub-contractors as per render requirements.
Preparing tender prices as per bill of quantities, drawings and specifications.
Direct and coordinate manufacturing support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
Prepare comparison between supplier and sub-contractor to request for rock bottom prices.
Updates estimates, schedules, reports, and documents based on revisions and changes to the project.
Prepare the estimates, cost reports, schedules, budgets and change orders.

ENGINEER
Review and approval of contractor’s Project Quality Plan (PQP).
Review of Project Scope of Work and Project Specifications
Review and approve the CV’s and test the ability of the contractor’s quality personnel.
Review and approve the contractor’s final Quality dossier after the completion of the project construction phase.
Audit the contractor’s quality of the work and documentation during construction phase at different stages.
Highlight the punch item during the pre start safety review (PSSR) walk down along with project management team (PMT).
Review & Approve of Method Statements, QC Work Procedures Inspection and Test Plans for Contractors.
Review & Approve of Welding Procedure (WPS) as per code & MAADEN requirement.
Material receiving inspection at site as per the MAADEN requirements & specification.
Ensure implementation of Quality Control Plans and procedures from each Contractor.
Ensure that Inspection / Testing equipment’s at site are with valid calibration.
Co-ordination with PMT construction for daily welding activities by stage wise to execute the project in smooth manner.
Prime responsibility is adopting Quality standards & procedures on fabrication shop and job site, coordinating and assigning inspectors according to the site inspection requirements.
Assessment and review of welder repair rate on weekly basis and maintain welder continuity.
Attending the meetings with Contractors, Sub contractors to resolve construction and Quality related issues.
Giving the suggestion for small problems at site and identifying the engineering issues, communicating with Construction & Engineering department for resolving the same at earlier stage.
Ensure that pipe supports that has been installed as per IFC and support drawings.
Line checking as per drawings and P&ID requirements to ensure completeness and accuracy of piping system as per code and project specifications. In addition, to incorporate the punch list with category A&B items.
Witnessing of Flushing, Air blowing and Hydro test as per Project specifications.
Monitoring the QA/QC documentation for contractors and ensure that all the activities are incorporated to their system on daily basis and can be traced.
Issuing NCR to the contractor when non conformity activities are noticed.
Conduct and coordinating walk through for each piping system completed, verification of closed punch items prior to Mechanical Completion acceptance.
Review of welding procedures specification (WPS) and procedure qualification record
(PQR). Coating and painting application quality work procedure, coating applicators id cards.
Review of Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans.
Ensure implementation of Quality Control Plans and procedures.
Ensure that approved WPS are followed & review of daily inspection reports.
Ensure that Inspection / Testing equipment’s at site are with valid calibration.
Reviewed calibration of welding machines, baking and holding ovens quivers, and inspection tools.
Material receiving inspection at site as per the client requirements & specification.
Implementing welding procedures as specified and qualified, and that the welding is performed as per applicable procedure.
Checking and monitoring the associated parameters (current, voltage, travel speed, and heat input) as per applicable WPS.
Witnessing of hardness testing of the Materials as per project requirements.
Controlling the welding of joints according to Project controlled Drawings and Checking Diameter, Thickness, Drawing Number, & Class in welding Progress report.
Monitored in-process welding parameters such as ampere, voltage, travel speed, heat input, weaving, preheat & inter-pass temperature requirements.
Reviewing filler wires and Electrodes of welding procedure Specification according to ASME Section II Part C & also, checking while welding Inspection.

Witnessing of bolt tightening inspection as per torque requirements specified by the client requirements.
