Providing Strategic Leadership to the Institution and the Industry: 1) Teamed with the Commissioner to develop a model for a central data repository combining information from PeopleSoft and Banner systems into a data warehouse integrated with K – 12 and workforce entities. 2) Established policies and procedures for data access, data handling, and utilization for all consumers of the central repository of public institutions of higher education. 3) Represented Rhode Island at a data development conference that promoted the sharing of workforce development and postsecondary education data in a New England and New York collaborative.

Enhancing the Quality and Functionality of Technology under Demanding Time Constraints: 1) Planned and implemented successful rollouts of core Microsoft products. 2) Led an error-free migration of Banner 7 to Banner 8. 3) Repeated that performance on an Oracle 11g upgrade across the entire administrative database family. 4) In a four-day span, moved 70,000 student email accounts from a legacy, inferior email system to Microsoft Live@edu at no cost to the college. 5) In a mid-semester break, planned and managed the load balancing, high-availability, virtualized Blackboard 9.1 learning management system.

Optimizing the User (Student) Experience: Established a text- and email-based emergency broadcast system. Empowered computing lab personnel to use secure procedures in password resets at four campus facilities by implementing a self-management utility for usernames and passwords. Developed customized routines for advising/counseling.

Virtualizing the Infrastructure: Teamed with technology vendors to create and model a virtual desktop infrastructure that maximized resources, eliminated huge desktop replacement cycles, and provided dynamic deployment of software to students, faculty, and staff.
