Previous experiences include:

Marketing: all types, TV, radio, newspaper, all aspects from creation to production including being a part of a major advertising co-op in the St. Louis market

Business Development: Business concepts, i.e., branded restaurants, internet concepts,

Commercial construction, (all types, buildings, concrete, land development) health industry, i.e., sleep studies, shipping industry logistics, all businesses developed completely on my own initiative from start to finish, all phases, all aspects of each business.

Business owner: restaurants, supermarket (IGA), commercial land development, web-based business marketing products on the internet, sleep studies with hospitals and home studies, shipping logistics, commercial concrete work.

Employer/Business Owner: Interviewed thousands of employees over 30-year period, most often produced 1,000 to 1,200 W2s each year, with as many as 600 employees on staff including a management team of 20 to 25 fulltime career managers. Experiences include total business oversight, complete business development, all facets of business financial planning and product development. Other responsibilities included land acquisition, site planning and development, total commercial building construction planning and oversight. Other business experience includes web site development, development of business models to satisfy software requirements. I am proficient as a typist and I have a reasonable knowledge of Microsoft products, as well as thorough experience in building business models on spreadsheets in Lotus and Excel. I have done much public speaking in marketing various products.

Previous Employment History & Work/Business Experiences

For 25 Years, Restaurant Steakhouse business, assumed full responsibility as a General Manager, excelled in every aspect of the business, attained the highest rating possible in all of my annual evaluations as a unit manager, then acquired the Ponderosa Steakhouse franchise, owned and operated 18 steakhouses over 25-year period. Responsibilities included all aspects of business development and management and oversight. Typically operated 5 or 6 restaurants, simultaneously. Acquired location (land), developed the site and construction. Typically had a staff of 20 to 25 managers and 500 to 600 fulltime and part-time employees. I played a big role in the development and marketing budget of nearly one million dollars annually for some 28 restaurants in the St. Louis market. I have trained and managed over 100 restaurant managers, at all levels, over the 30-year career in the restaurant business. I have also trained thousands of employees.

Most recent years After retirement; I did some consulting work for a business associate in the development of business models for products marketed on the internet. Primarily spent time adjusting to retirement and adjusting to idle time for the first time in my life after working 60 to 80 hours a week for 30 years.

I have some work in the insurance business, simply part-time work, something to fill my time.

After Retirement, Developed several internet companies and associated business models. Responsibilities included every aspect of developing and running the business. Hiring and training employees, development of needed business models, web site development, associated software, all marketing materials and strategies for product development. Shipping logistics created software and orchestrated loads with shipping companies. Other responsibilities included product research and all associated marketing materials, i.e., writing script for pages on the web site and marketing videos, produced associated marketing videos for the web site, create strategies for business deployment including creation of all applied policies and procedures.

I developed internet business marketing fuel discounts for automobiles.

I developed internet auto business for marketing vehicles online.

I developed internet auto business for marketing vehicle warranties.

I developed internet business marketing discounts across the U.S.

Education: Graduate from St. Charles High School and various management courses.

Personal: Married, 3 children, 10 grandchildren. Personal interests include family, church, golf, fishing, sightseeing, running, and traveling.

I would like to be a part of building sales and profitability for some national entity in the restaurant industry. I can promise month over month increases in sales, profit, and overall implementation of concept policies and procedures. I need no training, simply an introduction to the business and proposed objectives. My preference would be to utilize my people skills and my abilities to accomplish all objectives associated with multi-unit oversight. I’m accustomed to working in a very structured environment, my past experiences in the restaurant management always equated to double digit sales increase within 90 days in all operations. Additionally, during this same time period, other typical changes/improvements included dramatic improvements in operational standards in all areas, always equating to dramatic sales increases, greater cost controls, and overall profitability. I have set sales records in multiple locations, records equating to 25% to 100% increases in sales within 90 days. Creating huge sales increases and overall positive business trends have always been easy and attainable objectives.

I have a good understanding of all stages related to business development, research associated to location, site development, construction, hiring and training of all personnel, implementation of associated policies and procedures, and overall general management of any type of business.

My philosophy, my belief related to my decades of business experience causes me to recognize that success in all businesses, all levels of management, all related objectives, is linked to leaderships ability to motivate subordinates in a positive and respectful manner. Never lowering expectations or giving in to challenges at all levels of management. In general, successful businesses are linked to well-trained employees at all levels, sound product knowledge, and, management holding all direct reports accountable.
