Established production in new manufacturing facilities for alternator
- Key member in establishing vacuum pump production, which is a new platform product in a new manufacturing line – from machine inspection, line formation to PAP.
- New special purpose milling machine for thro’ bolt relief milling established
- Reconditioned power press established in production for stator core blanking – having two ribbons
- Introduced 0.5 mm thick lamination in production for new products
- 110v new product implemented in ELGI ultra motor division

- Motor assembly line Auto tightening process implemented in Elgi ultra motor divisin
- Quality improvement Stator varnishing level 3:1 modified in ELGI ultra unit

Process improvements in stator manufacturing
- Reduction in manufacturing cycle time in CNC machine, which is a bottleneck operation o SA23 variety (Introduced Single cut) – 47 to 22 sec o GA15 variety (Number of Passes reduced) – 58 to 32 Sec o Sedan (Program modified) - 72 to 48 Sec
- Optimised stator core coining process to improve Cpk of core pack and ID. o Instead of trial and error adjustment of coining pressure – a single optimum pressure using fixed number of layers in the core is established o Modified coining bunk dia. to improve ID
- Introduced gauging system for thro’ bolt relief milling operation to check in process dimension and avoid final rejection
- Tried out coining cum riveting to minimise rivet bend and combine operations
Process improvements in rotor manufacturing
- Elimination of customer complaints – thro’ implementing dummy bearing in machining
& grinding bearing dia as a rotor to minimise run out
Process improvements in alternator assembly
- Elimination of customer complaints - thro’ Poka yoke for wrong bracket assembly
Process improvements in Motor assembly unit(Elgi ultra)
- Introduced Auto tightening process to controlled Rubbing issues in motor assy line
- Introduced Pneumatic press in Rotor & Bearing pressing stage to avoid Bearing noise
