Community health worker

My name is Brooke Vance. I am a native of East Baltimore, which is where I discovered my passion for the community. Having several loved ones who have battled addictions and major health problems such as Mental health, HIV, Diabetes, and High Blood Pressure made my career path evident. I began my path as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) where I came to the realization that my passion and calling is for all people. To further my education in this field I took a course to become a Community Health Worker where I would become more suited to help all citizens from my community. Broadening my perspective I came to realize it was not just my community facing the health inequities but all communities in Baltimore City. I then decided to further my education by pursuing Healthcare Management at Strayer University to maximize my input on the community. Ultimately my goal is to make a difference in Baltimore City while imparting to everyone that change possible.
