Upon several promotions over the course of my first 5 years, I had attended multi-day seminars designed specifically for Trader Joe’s management. These set me apart from other management competitors. They were run & uniquely tailored for this “Unique Grocery Store” known for its employee & customer brand loyalty.

First group of managers from my Long Island region to train & give input for new Scheduling HR program, G.O.L.D. Proving my in depth training & problem solving within existing Dayforce program, I was given opportunity to be a leader in training Captains & Mates on GOLD over the roll out in my region.

The “Community Store” concept followed through to the developmental training programs for each Trader Joe’s up until 2014. The store management delegates forming a structure for training staff, outlining procedures, tracking progress to the handful of supervisors & assistants. Many of the processes I implemented have outlasted my own residency at a store. Also, other stores utilized my best practices to better track waste, salvage food & get rescued to local food pantries, build team product knowledge & pass on vital information to our customers.

No call out or overwhelming fluctuation of business due to weather or holiday could effect my shift because of my experience within months of my own training.

I was able to bring the unique problem solving & proactive de-escalating tactics I learned at Trader Joe’s to the stores I worked in here. Understanding the various roles within the multitude of jobs at Best Market gave me the edge to master any storm of events with strong leadership & calm brevity.
