I critically evaluate each potential plasma donor. I conduct a complete head to toe physical exam, comprehensive medication review, counsel patients on possible side effects, and document patient's eligibility to donate. Additional responsibilities include responding to medical emergencies such as hypotension, vagal reactions, unresponsiveness, and cardiac arrest events. 24 years of Level 1 Trauma Center emergency room and critical care experience. EMT responsibilities rotated between triage, trauma, fast track, acute care, EKG, mental health sitter, rapid assessment, 23 hour observation. Developed extensive health care skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, start IV’s, draw blood, EKG, BG monitoring, assist nurses and physicians in direct patient care. In triage, I was trained to recognize critical patient care. In EKG, I was trained to recognize STEMI, Strokes, and Sepsis.
Also worked in the “War Room” doing cardiac monitoring. The last six years, I moved from direct patient care to the Emergency Room education assistant.
