Supervised the department level operation and training of a major Coast Guard Cutter. Developing department level training to insure the safe navigation of the ship during hight risk navigation exercises and missions.
As the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commanding Officer, I would advise and speak with the Captain and Executive officer on matters pertaining to the well fair of the crew. Additionally I would often mentor and council junior members of the crew on maters of personal and professional growth, work life balance.
Executive Petty Officer 2017-2018
Coordinated and executed the day to day operation of the Coast Guard Station Ketchikan, including, the unit training program, maintenance of four boats, mentored and trained members of the crew to achieve goals as well as to achieve mission success by developing leaders with critical thinking and decision making skills. Managed the operating budget of approximately $45,000 prioritizing the purchases of essential items to insure members received the appropriate protective clothing as well as critical maintenance items were purchases.
Deck Maintenance Supervisor Coast Guard Cutter Aquidneck. Manama Bahrain, 2016- 2017.
Responsible for material condition and repair of a 110 foot Coast Guard cutter assigned to operations in the Persian Gulf. Acted as the Quality Assurance representative during a 180 dry dock. Insuring that established contract standards where adhered to insuring the preservation of the critical underwater body. Additionally supervised the painting and hull preservation of the cutters main deck, superstructure, mast and anchor locker. Supervised and Coordinated the launch and recovery of the Cutter Small Boat while underway. Maintained the Cutter Rescue and Survival Program insuring compliance and serviceability of the Cutters Emergency Survival Equipment.
