The Paley Center For Media
New York, NY 10019
To Internship Hiring Board,
I am reaching out to you for the posting of the Teen Transmitters Internship position. I think I am a perfect candidate for this position because I am well versed and experienced in researching, and communication through my recent work with the Hats and Ladders New York City Housing Apartment program. During my time in this program I assisted a team in media research, with the aim to help underserved community members.
The research project that I developed aided me in obtaining the skills of communication and teamwork. Vigorously, I collected diverse media outlets that would support, as well as contribute to the evidence required for my research claims. Throughout this process I worked with others in problem-resolutions in finding ways to educate community members on the effects of gentrification. Additionally, through my research I came to understand the contributors and specific communities affected by this crisis. Actively I retained knowledge about this matter through program materials, to which I utilized in my research presentations. Currently, I am using my research skills to complete a research paper on organ donation and how people are affected by the United Network Of Organ Sharing list. Overall this experience not only equipped me with skills to impact the community, but also a greater understanding of career choices for my future.
I aspire to further develop my skills so that I can positively impact the community. More specifically through the medical field of psychology. I feel as though being a psychiatrist one has to use communication and analytical skills to help with treating people/ patients. I believe by joining The Paley Center For Media Internship program I would become better equipped in ways to create change. I hope to learn more about career development from this program, along with professional development skills that will assist me in my endeavors. If granted the opportunity to become a Teen Transmitter I know that I can be a valuable team member, who is eager to serve as well as learn from Paley Center For Media’s respected advisors.
Thank you for your time and careful considerations of my application. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Sincerely,
Aleyah J. Marseille
