Vast exposure to electrical equipment including switchboards, transformers, cables and motors, as well as PLCs, Variable Speed Drives, MOVs, UPS systems, lighting and distribution. Experience Details:

1991-1995:

1) First line supervision of Electrical Network Study and implementation of 6.6 kV switchgear upgrade works by Siemens as part of EPSI ( Electrical Power System Upgrade ) contract for PakVen-600 expansion project of Exxon. The project involved, load flow, short circuit and motor start study for 6.6 kV and 480 V networks, MG set for Ammonia-2 plant and offsites transmission line including new substation at offsites. This included custom made redesign of main busbar adapter panels for extension of old GE MV switchboard to accommodate new Siemens circuit breakers and 7SJ numerical protection relays, interlocks and monitoring system.

2) Installation supervision of low voltage GEC Motor Control Center, power and control cables trays systems installation, terminations and connections, testing and commissioning of all LV drives of Urea-2 plant. 3) Installation supervision, testing and commissioning of Danfoss Variable Speed Drive based prilling bucket at new prill tower.

4) Supervision of electrification works of new housing colony extension, including street lighting of the new streets.

5) Testing and commissioning supervision of Allen Bradley PLC based PMS ( Product Movement System ) of conveyors, gates, gantry, chutes and weighing and packing systems of new Urea plant. 6) E&I maintenance responsibility of new Urea plant. 7) Modification and accuracy enhancements of Chronos Richardson weighing control and bagging machines as part of the first CI ( Continuous Improvement ) team of new urea plant. 8) Technical feasibility of upgrade excitation and control upgrade of 6.6 kV CO2 compressor synchronous motor drive.

9) Troubleshooting of excitation panels of GE Frame 5 Generator controls. 1995-1998:

1) Supervision of extension works of Westinghouse Motor Control Centers and modification of the control panels at gas gathering and oil loading platform stations. 2) Electrical and instrumentation work of Oil Separators at gas gathering and dispatch facilities. 3) Well head instrumentation works supervision.

4) Electrical installation works of multiple ETFs and ETF including generation sets, cabling and distribution. 5) Pipe to Soil ( PSP ) surveys supervision and cables / Transformer rectifiers installation / commissioning works for cathodic protection.

6) Installation supervision of Allen Bradley ( Rockwell ) telemetering systems at remote oil / gas gathering systems.

7) Replacement of bare copper earthing systems with insulated cable systems in the oil loading and dispatch facilities, based on corrosion study by consultant. 8) Supervision of engineering works by the engineering works frame contractor for all E&I design works in the company head office.

9) Worked as part of technical tenders evaluation team for LPG plant. 1998-2020:

1) Supervision of electrical network studies ( load flow, short circuit, motor starting and dynamic stability ) for plant 1 and 2 by ABB.

2) Supervision of replacement of 3.3 kV switchboard for plant 1 with ABB including power and control cables to all 3.3 kV drives, cable tray systems, terminations, connections, testing and commissioning. 3) Replacement of GEC switchboards in Bagging, De-dusting and Nitrogen plants with Schneider switchboards. 4) Old electrical equipment replacement feasibility, including two studies ( Network Study by Siemens Germany and Equipment End of Life Study by EA Technology UK ), leading to technical feasibility of phased replacement of all major switchboards and transformers in plants 1 and 2. 5) AUMA motorized valves installation and testing / commissioning at Ammonia -2 plant. 6) Replacement of GEC MCCs for Nitrogen plant unit A and B with Siemens MCC built and tested locally in Qatar.

7) Replacement of 6 transformers 2 MVA, 11/0.415 kV in process plants 1 and 2. 8) Installation of 12 Eurotherm variable speed drives for plant 1 and 2 synthesis loop coolers. 9) Replacement of GEC MCC of Jetty-1 with ABB MCC. 10) Replacement of 10 MVA, 11/3.3 kV Process Plant Transformers of plant 2. 11) Development of company specifications for major electrical equipment for future projects. 12) Upgrade of 11 kV XLPE insulated incomer cables of plant 3 11 kV switchboard. 13) New substation and installation of NATUS 3.3 kV switchboard, with cabling and controls for plant 2. 14) Upgrade of 11 kV feeders with replacement of numerical relays with ABB REF relays for melamine plant incomer 11 kV feeders at sea water sub-station.

15) Online extension of ABB double busbar switchboards with additional feeders for CO2 booster blower project in plant 3.

16) Replacement of 2.5 MW, 11 kV vertical service sea water ANSALDO motors with custom mad design SCHORCH motors.

17) Rewinding works of 2.5 MW ANSALDO motors in ABB workshop at Ras Laffan. 18) Emergency lighting project including new luminaries, cabling and GUTOR single string UPSs in plants 1 and 2.

19) Parallel redundant GUTOR UPS systems project for plant 1 and 2 instrument supplies. 20) Worked as technical tenders documents development teams for Central Emissions Monitoring an Zero Liquid Discharge projects.

21) Worked in the department level team for procedures, instructions and forms modifications to align with ISO 14001(2015) for recertification and handled internal and external audits for projects section records / procedures for verification of compliance.
