EXPERIENCE
CORRECTIONAL OFFICER • CO. DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS (CDOC) • OCT 1995 TO JUNE 1996
I worked in Housing at DRDC which housed male and female offenders as well as the Y.O.S. program. I was responsible for the timely movement of inmates to work, the chow hall, the med line, recreation, etc. I answered questions from inmates via the intercom. I performed count several times a day and reported to master control to ensure all inmates were accounted for. I was responsible for the safety and security of all staff and inmates who were assigned to the same unit as I.
CDOC DIVISION OF ADULT PAROLE • JUNE 1996 TO PRESENT I began my career with parole in June, 1996 as a parole officer. Over the next 8 years, I supervised all caseloads from community corrections to ISPI to parole. I then promoted to parole team leader. I was the first line of supervision for the parole officers, usually a team of six to eight officers. A team leader signs off on the FTO (Field Training Officer) Program for new officers and ensures officers attend all required training while assigned to the team. A team leader signs off on the officer’s work product and coaches the officer throughout their time on the team.
I then promoted to work lead of the Community Referrals and Moves Unit. I supervised one program assistant and six administrative assistants. The unit was responsible to receive and prepare referral packets for the community corrections boards as well as the daily count of all offenders in the community programs statewide. Assistant Director Sally Skiver and I worked with CDOC Case Managers to create the CF CHAMOIS FANELLI

I was then transferred to the Professional and Organizational Development team. While a part of this team, I worked with the Office of the Inspector General to create a sex offender registration process for the department as this requirement became law. At the conclusion of this assignment, I was assigned to the Governor’s Clemency (Sentence Commutation and Pardons). I collaborated with Associate Director Skiver once again to create a program to enter the applications into a computer program after I streamlined the actual application process. After three years in this assignment I was given the opportunity to pilot the Administrative Hearing Unit. I began with one county and have been able to add 11 additional counties and two additional staff members. I also the hearing officer for the COPD cases for the state.

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OR LEADERSHIP
I volunteer for the Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport
(DDRT). We are a 501-3C charity. I suggested we sponsor two Bingo sessions. The DDRT has blossomed into a large, successful group of people who volunteer at Bingo as well as many other duties of rescue volunteers.
