Career Summary
I’m a very passionate individual I love to serve people & truly look to make a difference where ever I am present. I found that with working with people, being considerate & polite can go a long way into reaching a person & making them feel comfortable. I love networking & always look forward to meeting new possible business partners or prospective connections. Communication is one of my natural skills & strengths. From experience, a lot times disagreements & awkward/confusing moments could’ve been eliminated thru open discussion. That’s why I’m a very open & honest person I try to be as transparent & engaging when I work because knocking down that initial imaginary wall of insecurity or bashful energy & leveling out with a person can make or break bonds that could really make a world of difference. Employment January 2020 - May 2021 Marriott/White Lodging (The Otis & Austin Marriott Downtown)
after a brief but career enlightening time with The Sydell Group at the LINE Hotel I was hired as a Head Host/Daily Operations Coordinator with White Lodging at their various Marriott locations. I started out at their newest property at the the time which was The Otis located in the heart of the west campus district. There I picked up right where I left off at the Line and furthered my overall development as a Host, this time around I had my own hosting crew & I had to balance out our schedules, coordinate which days would be our busiest to ensure we had enough staff available. It was here where we had real extensive wine trainings & tastings for our employees as we would be dealing with a more high end based clientele. I was introduced to a new program called Open Table, it’s an interactive tool used to help coordinate daily operations, events & schedules. As a host it is vital to know how to use open table it is a complete game changer in the hosting realm. Once the pandemic hit, like everyone I was forced to take a break professionally & didn’t know when or if I’d have a job to comeback to. But I was called & informed my services would be needed at the newest location gearing to open up & that’s when I started work at Zanzibar at the Downtown Marriott. I really enjoyed my time here, As a host I love doing private events/party’s it’s an opportunity to really meet some interesting people as well as interact with different brands. I naturally flourish in this type of environment even though they weren’t big events it felt good getting back into doing what I do best.
July 2019 - December 2019 Dean’s One Trick Pony at The LINE Hotel
(Sydell Group) Downtown Austin, TX Pool Host
As The Pool Host I had many duties to carry out & oversee during any given shift. First I would meet our guests at the door & welcome them to the deck, offer them a place to sit if available. Ensure they had menus to look over & had servers on hand there to proceed with any ordering. I would distribute towels accordingly to the tables & seats, I would personally offer any accommodations to all guests as needed throughout the day. Collect trash/soiled linens along & around the pool as it accumulated during regular attendance. Whenever there were scheduled events on the deck I would prep for the evening (Tables/ Tent/extra chairs/fans etc.) as well as make any accommodations per request of the talent booked for each event. Stay in constant communication with my servers, cooks, supervisor, manager, about daily operations or any special requests we had for the day. Ensure everyone abide by the pool rules on a daily/nightly basis & to notify security immediately of any infractions that may have occurred while on the deck. Run food from the kitchen to the dining room/bar or to the pool deck, buss down & remove dirty silverware/trash/debris from any booth, table & bench. Make sure dirty & clean linens were rotated regularly in a timely manner. Provide any information about the city/ hotel & or events as requested per guests throughout the day. Last but not least, made sure everyone had a fun enjoyable experience while visiting our pool deck here at The LINE Hotel.
