ACTIVITIES
Participated in the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science . Was able to learn hands on training with different health procedures with my peers, such as, learning how to test glucose level etc. Volunteered at the Gardena Convalescent Center. This experience taught me the important duty of providing support and encouragement for the patients. It was important to openly share feelings to both the patient and myself, and to remain empathetic to the situation. Being involved in an organization called Top Teens of America, provided us with opportunities to receive extra-curricular support, career, and character development training. I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Sickle Cell Disease Awareness,March of Dimes, along with many other community volunteer opportunities. References Available upon request.
