Summary
Upon graduating highschool in 2002, I started to work in the construction field. My first contractor experience was with a general contractor as a laborer. After about a year, I left and started my path as an electrician for a local residential company where I acquired basics branch circuit wiring skills. After a few years of this work, I had applied to, and was accepted by Philadelphia’s local union 98. Here I underwent an extensive 4 year apprenticeship program. Throughout my apprenticeship, we were subject to material such as AC/DC theory, transformers, basic wiring, pipe bending, OSHA 30 to name a few. During my schooling, I was employed by a major contractor who specialized in healthcare facility construction. Basic tasks such as MC wiring, fixture installation, as well as fire alarm system installations were only a few of the many jobs performed. Upon graduating the apprenticeship program around 2013, I furthered my career as a successful and competent journeyman with skill and craftsmanship pride. Heavy job tasks were taught and performed under supervision, with different utility contractors. I most recently gained experience with some rigging, working on live circuits with proper PPE, confined space work (manholes and trench work), and heavy utility equipment. Throughout my working years, I have gained experience with branch circuit wiring, pipe work (EMT, IMC, PVC etc), site lighting, underground duct banks, grounding grids, transformer work, CADweld and Ultrawelding and so on.
