PROFILE
My passion for literature constantly drives me to seek new strategies to teach it in order to instill the same passion in my students' hearts. English literature has created a crevice of knowledge I was never aware of until I began working in research writing. Being an English teacher has shown me exciting ways to not only be a researcher but also an educator, a friend, and a student at the same time. Teaching and research writing, to me, complement each other; I teach my students about the beauty of the language and its literature every day, and from within this teaching experience novel ways of thinking and imagining the world spiral in my mind and push me toward researching and writing new ideas. As I am currently working in research writing and publishing with my MA supervisor, I aspire to become a scholar as well as an educator.
MA THESIS
My thesis is entitled The Afrofuturistic Novel toward a Third Reconstruction in Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower and Toni Morrison's Paradise.
