Professional Information

In Bend, Oregon, Kim volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America as a Cub Scout Den Leader for three dens, Cubmaster of the Scoutreach program in Bend, as the Pack Fundraising Chair, and as the District Cub Scout Day Camp Director in 2019.

Partly due to her volunteer commitments with the Cub Scouts and partly due to her varied background and experience, the Crater Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America hired Kim in October of 2019 as their Development Director. The Crater Lake Council covers Central and Southern Oregon and part of Northern California, and she is responsible for securing donations from the entire council. Kim works directly with the CEO/Scout Executive, the Board of Directors and the council staff. Kim DeBroux Resume page 4

Kim is also responsible for all special events in the Council, including two Golf Tournaments, a Shooting Clays Tournament, fundraising luncheons and Eagle Scout dinners, for popcorn product sales, and for all grant writing.

Kim DeBroux has been a Success Coach and Hypnotherapist since 2009. She became interested in neurolinguistic programming and hypnotherapy while a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley in Southern California. She has previously held series 7 securities and series 65 financial planning licenses as well as life and health insurance licenses. She is also a Divorce Financial Analyst, helping her clients secure an equitable divorce settlement. She continues to offer her services to women going through a divorce on a pro bono basis. Kim owned Loan Processing Associates, from 2001 to 2008, a company which prepared the paperwork and interfaced with clients who were in the process of applying for a home loan. Ms. DeBroux was responsible for training and supervising the loan processors under her employ and expediting the loan process. Kim also enjoyed her role as a business coach for new franchisees and a franchise owner with Blue Coast Financial, helping corporations audit business services for substantial savings. Prior to opening her own company in 2001, Ms. DeBroux operated a Branch of Ocean West Funding in Costa Mesa, and prior to that was the operations manager for Househunters Real Estate Trading Company. Ms. DeBroux was responsible for the day-to-day oversight and training of the residential sales, commercial sales & leasing manager, and loan division managers. Ms. DeBroux holds a California real estate broker license, and has been licensed as a real estate salesperson or broker since 1999. From 1997-1999, Ms. DeBroux held the position of Regional Sales Director for Five Star Rated Services, a company that specializes in providing computer training specific to the Real Estate Industry. From 1978-1997, Ms. DeBroux owned and operated her own special events company while holding the positions of Executive Director from 1991 through 1996 of the Taste of Costa Mesa, a three-day festival celebrating the best of the city’s restaurants and entertainment, and Operations Manager from 1992 through 1994 for the Challenge Tennis Tournament (telecast nationally on CBS). Ms. DeBroux’s prior business experience includes her co- ownership of Diamond Sign Company from 1978 to 2000, where she participated in areas as diverse as marketing, operations, estimating, human resources, AP/AR and permit procurement. Kim moved from Orange County, CA to Bend, OR in August of 2016. She became engaged with her new church, Antioch, and currently is a member of the Prayer team, the Children’s ministry, the Benevolence team, and participates with the Empty Nesters and the women’s bible study. She teaches Financial Peace University and Sunday School and is a trained Stephen’s Ministry Leader. Kim joined the Boy Scouts of America in October 2018 when she was asked to become the Pack 18 Fundraising chair. In January 2019 she became the Tiger Den Leader and soon thereafter volunteered to be the day Camp Director for the 2019 summer cub scout camp. Kim was hired by the Council to be the Cubmaster for two Scoutreach programs located at the Boys and Girls Clubs in Bend with Cub Scouts in all age groups from first through fifth grade in one Den. Normally a den consists of Cub Scouts all in the same grade.

Kim DeBroux joined the Rotary Club of Greater Bend in 2019 and will be President of the Club starting in July, 2022. Kim is also the current District 5110 Training Coordinator. She is a charter member of the Rotary eClub of the West, having served as Charter Secretary, Membership Director, President, Executive Secretary and Webmaster. She was the Governor’s Special Representative to the creation of a new Rotary club in downtown Santa Ana, as the fourth club she helped start. Having joined Rotary in 1989, she is also the Past President of the Costa Mesa Rotary Club (2010-1011), the Newport-Balboa Rotary Club (2004-2005) and the South Coast Metro Rotary Club (1993-1994). Kim has held various positions with the Rotary District 5320 in Orange County, CA (covering 45 clubs), including two terms as Assistant Governor, three terms as Director of Membership, two terms as Director of Public Relations and three terms as the Training Director. Kim served D5320 as the Alumni Chair and was often called upon to speak to Rotary clubs on different aspects of recruiting and retaining members and was selected to speak to over 200 incoming Presidents at their annual President Elects Training in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2007 Kim served as the Group Study Exchange Team Leader and led a team of non-Rotarian young business professionals on a four-week trip to the Philippines for a cultural immersion program. Kim was given the district “Service Above Self” award in 1996 and was selected as the District 5320 Rotarian of the Year in 2009. Kim was also the lead facilitator for club strategic visioning, club business planning and was a member of the district strategic planning team. With Rotary, in 2006 Kim headed up a team of over 600 local Rotarians on a project to bring the surviving spouses and children of the heroes killed in Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts to Orange County for a weekend of holiday fun. Kim helped create and chaired the first and second national Snowball Express events, a weekend holiday event for surviving spouses of fallen military heroes. In 2017 The Gary Sinise Foundation took over this event and expanded it to five days. Kim also chaired Operation One Family, an event that brought together the families of the fallen in a regional setting to provide opportunities for bonding between themselves, life skills training, entertainment and fun activities, and long-term bonding with local Rotary clubs.

As a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), serving two separate terms as President of the Santa Ana-Orange (CA) branch in 2010-2011 and 2014-2015. She also held offices as VP of Membership and VP of Programs. She helped in the merging of that branch with the Tustin (CA) branch in 2016. Kim was elected to a two year term as AAUW California State Director in 2011 and served through 2013. Kim served a year on the AAUW-CA State Finance committee, State Leadership Committee and Chaired the California State Convention in 2012. As a member of the AAUW Bend (OR) branch, Kim served as STEM chair and helped organize Tech Trek Central Oregon, a residential STEM camp for girls entering the 8th grade at OSU Cascades, where she was the camp Co-Director from 2016f to 2018. Kim also served AAUW of Oregon as the state STEM chair from 2016-2018.

Kim has served as an appointed member of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District Budget Advisory Committee from 1992-1994, the Citizens Advisory Committee for Measure F and on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Superintendent Selection in 2006. Mesa Sign Ordinance Committee from 1990-1992, a board member of the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce from 1989-1996, and as the Business Committee Chairperson from 1990-1992, receiving the Chamber of Commerce Committee Chair of the Year award in 1991. Kim received the Volunteer of the Year award from the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce for her work with the Taste of Newport in 2007 and 2008. In 2006 she was awarded the Remarkable Woman award from the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-OC). She was named a Community Leader by the Pacific West Association of Realtors in 2006. Kim also received the Presidential Award for Leadership from U.S. President George W. Bush. Ms. DeBroux received her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1978.

Kim DeBroux’s professional associations have included the Orange County Financial Society, Pacific West Association of Realtors, American Holistic Medical Association (board member), Victory Networking Professional Services Chapter, Kingdom Advisors, the Business Owners Advisory Team, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Kim received her Certified Fund Raising Executive

(CFRE) credential in 2021 and is currently working on her MBA. Kim also became a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor in 2021, having been a swimming enthusiast since a child and teaching swimming in her backyard pool.
