SUCCESSFULLY STERILIZED ALL MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT for the National Naval Medical Center’s Main Operating Room Services including cardiothoracic, Ear/nose/throat, General, Genital Urinary, Pulmonary Vascular, Orthopedics, Oral Maxillofacial facial, Neurology, Gynecology, Plastic surgery services and 39 surrounding clinics.
EXPERT OPERATIONAL USE OF VARIOUS STERILIZATION EQUIPMENT such as a washer-sterilizer, ultrasonic instrument cleaners, and Ethylene Oxide Gas Sterilizer Systems, Getinge steam/gravity sterilizers and gas plasma machines 200, 100, and 50 sterrad machines, Case Cart washer mono rail system.
PROCESSED, ASSEMBLED, AND TROUBLESHOOT MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT including Specialty instrumentation form synthesis, Acumed, Depuy, instruments sets, Rigid scopes, light cords, and cameras.

As a result of these tests, was awarded Department Achievement Award in 2003 for decreasing sterilization equipment failures which was impacting the hospital's performance, thus increasing productivity by 26%.
SUCCESSFULLY TRACKED MEDICAL SUPPLIES using the Cenitrac instrument tracking system in order to assure that instruments went from decontamination, through sterilization, and finally the ability to track instrumentation throughout the entire hospital to its current department inventory location.
CERTIFIED IN THE USE OF ASEPTIC PRINCIPLES AND TECHNIQUES including characteristics of various types of detergents, cleaning techniques, sterilizing mediums, sterilizer operation. Provide technical knowledge and advice in the use, sterilization of all equipment, and supplies to staff and senior level personnel in group settings of 20 or more and on a one-on-one basis.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
1.Significantly contributed to a 75% decrease in re-sterilization of instruments during a workload increase of 130%, all while mentoring six junior personnel and three civilians and Orientating 15 Nurse corps officers and 20 surgical technicians. This resulted in a load recall reduction of 75%.
2.Oriented 16 military and civilian staff members on the Sterile Processing environment at the National Naval Medical Center thereby increasing their knowledge of the department.
3.Created calculation formulas and percentage formulas for the Monthly Employee Performance Recordings (MEPR) resulting in 100% accurate reporting of man-hours for 18 staff personnel in 2003.
4.Voluntarily provided assistance in analyzing workloads and processes at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in support of the eminent integration with National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda.
