I am a Certified Phlybotomist, when the doctor orders Laboratory tests on a patient, I go to patient room or at the station they are located, I present myself, I ask them to give me 2 identification information, so I know, I have the correct patient, then I explain the process and commence the procedure. I also am a Front Office Assistant for the Laboratory, I handle the answer of calls. Collect the specimens, make sure they are collected in the correct order and right tube, order outpatient specimens, logged into Laboratory and make sure it dispensed to the correct department. Call the doctor office if the results are abnormal, fax results. Take verbal information, and make sure all duties are done properly.
