Introduction:

My father worked in the heavy / civil construction industry, until he was 80 years old. I want to work for a top notch Company with true professionals and want to work until I am 80 or older, I just love my work. I have worn many hats in the heavy / civil construction business from operating engineer, primarily Caterpillar equipment, concrete form builder and form setter, foreman, job superintendent, gen. Supt. and project manager, etc. I believe my dream job would be in a position where I would be in charge of new construction as well as maintaining construction projects and rebuilding projects . My years of experience in the construction industry, I believe, would be valuable to any civil construction co.

At the age of 24, in 1969, I joined the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 150, in Countryside, Illinois and still 51 years later belong to Local 150. I have 7 solid years of non union experience 52 years as a union operating engineer. My favorite equipment to operate is Caterpillar dozers and graders. I also have approximately 15 years experience in concrete construction, curb and gutter, sidewalks, pavement, bridges vaults, etc. bridges, box culverts, concrete vaults, water treatment plants and sewer treatment plants. I was everything from a form setter to foreman and superintendent in the heavy / civil construction industry. I also, owned my own construction company, North American Road Builders, in Russellville, Arkansas and was a member of the “AGC”, Associated General Contractors, Arkansas chapter. My Company executed excavation projects, site prep projects, roads, small bridges and box culverts, shopping center concrete work and paved parking lots. Sewer systems both storm and sanitary. After some years of owning my company, another contractor bought my business and I moved back to Illinois.

I believe you can see my many years of construction experience. I am capable of being a great employee for any company.

Although, I was not able to finish my senior year in high school, I did pass my college entrance exam at Mohave Community College, in Kingman, Arizona, at age 65. My studies included mastering skills, blue print reading, OSHA building and safety and computer skills. I maintained a 4.0 grade average, was Vice President of Alpha Chi Omega and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa International. I understand that a high school diploma is a prerequisite for most companies but hope my years of experience and my college credit will suffice.
