PROFILE SUMMARY

A medical doctor with a PhD in Public Health. She is a mixed method researcher and has been working on issues related to gender and gender-based violence for 13 years in an interdisciplinary, international research collaborations both in LMIC and HIC countries such as RCT and intervention researches to improve quality of care for victims/ survivors of domestic violence, improve safety for women and girls, LGBTQI+ and persons with disability. Human centric designs are very important her and she has been co-designing research with user groups and stakeholders. She uses a gender-based analysis plus framework in most of her work. She is also a passionate teacher with a well-rounded skill in preparing lectures, assignments, assessment of assignment and designing courses and education materials. She has designed a course, gender in health: methods and meaning for the MSc. Public Health at Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences in Nepal. She is a very appreciated colleague in teaching and research but also acknowledged as an expert in her field and as such an advisor for NGOs and INGOs as well as at the ministry level in Nepal. Course Diploma Teacher Training Seminar for PhD students and Post Doctoral Research Fellows, Autumn 2016, three days’ seminar offered to temporary scientific personnel without pedagogical background by the faculty of Social Sciences and Technology Management Programme for Teacher Education, Educational Development Unit, NTNU- Trondheim Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The goal of the seminar was to strengthen the participants’ lecturing and supervision skills. Focus was on how the brain learns, student motivation, planning a lecture, presentation techniques, supervision of students. The context included practical sessions on individual presentations with video recording and individual feedback.

Experiential Boot Camp: Lab Based Approach in learning, 2019, three days’ faculty development program jointly conducted by Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Oulu, Finland and Kathmandu University School of Management, Nepal.
