SENIOR ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER - HDR Inc. CONSULT The main objective is to supervise the construction work for both MV & LV networks and ensure the work done as per EEC specification & comply with the SEC requirements. WORK PERFORMED

Review the materials submittals to insure the correct approved materials were used.

Monitor and inspect electrical erection installation, commissioning activities of the contractor with regards to progress, compliance with the contract and applicable codes standards, quality, safety and environmental acceptance.

Review and approve contractor’s cable laying, electrical installation, and commissioning work method of statements

Review and approve site related design engineering matters submitted by the Contractor.

Review and approve contractor’s site quality assurance quality control (QAQC) system proposed for all electrical installation & commissioning activities.

Review and approve the proposed test procedures for materials on site by the contractor and witness such tests and review the related test reports.

Monitor and verify contractor’s work progress in the respective area for the purpose of progress payments and assist in issuing the payment certificates with all necessary backup.

Attend the regular (daily weekly) Site coordination meetings with the contractors and the monthly progress review meeting.

Prepare the regular Site progress reports for the respective part as required by the Project Site Manager (weekly and monthly).

Maintain records for the electrical part of contractual claims and variations by either the contractor or the employer including the necessary evidence.

Review the training program proposed by the contractor for the employers’ personnel.

Review of the preliminary (prior to start commissioning) and final (prior to taking over) O&M manuals submitted by the contractors.

Review the final electrical as-built documents submitted by the contractor upon taking over.

ORGANIZATION & MAIN OBJECTIVES

O&M Section consists of three units and a subsidiary group as follow:

The main objective is to ensure safety of personals and equipment by providing safe operation and to prevent / minimize forced outages to the best levels of international standard and maintain the meters accuracy nominated by SEC. WORK PERFORMED

Arrange HV shutdowns and operate HV switch gear and issue related work permits.

Commissioning of new Substations.

Attend & supervise emergency failures at LV & HV networks and make the necessary analysis and root case and reports.

Monitor HV feeder’s loads in coordination with LDC and take the necessary actions to relief loaded feeders.

Prepares annual preventive maintenance plans & supervise work

Supervise contractors work and prepare time sheets & review and approve invoices.

Plans section needs of consumable materials, tools, safety PPEs& measuring devices.

Prepares monthly reports of O&M section activities and achievements.

Arrange meters calibration tests using ZERA & ensure meters accuracy.

Arrange training to O&M section staff to cover weak areas and to improve staff skills.

STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS (PRIMARY REASON / OBJECTIVE OF JOB EXISTENCE) Supervises and directs the activities of the Field Services Unit covering HV and LV connections, commissioning and installation of new networks. Manages the operations, maintaining service standards required to customers, as per ADDC set policy and procedures.

WORK PERFORMED

Supervises assigned staff by giving work directions, reviewing activities and ensuring efficient and satisfactory performance. Performs supervisory functions and exercises financial authority at the level established by management.

Ensures that operations such as adjusting loads, maintenance duties; inspection and material test of the Unit are carried out in accordance with Division’s procedures and standards.

Supervises and controls shutdowns and outage caused due to equipment/cable failure. Instructs Engineer on isolation and restoration of supply upon completion of repairing job.

Manages the provision of service to customers such as new/ higher capacity meter installations and new proposed electric room’s inspection. Conducts site visits regularly to appraise performance, ensures timely completion and compliance with set standards. Takes corrective actions when necessary.

Prepares daily reports on the work undertaken and accomplished by the Field Services Unit, to provide detailed and current information to the relevant authority.

Ensures adherence to set HSE guidelines and procedures, ensuring the use of protective clothing to ensure minimal hazard to employees, environment, consumers and resources.

Plans and coordinates all approved requests raised through MAXIMO by consultation with concerned departments, to provide services in an efficient and timely manner.
