This includes six managers and 200 people.

oManaged through the pandemic in 2020 for positive financial growth in both sales and profit despite the adversity.

Operations Manager (Memphis, TN)
●A facility with approximately $55mm sales annually specializing in extended content labels and prime labels for companies like Scotts, Monsanto, Ortho, Dow and Syngenta. Responsible for all aspects of production for 11 flexo presses, 2 HP Indigo presses (7250 and 8000), 3 finishing machines, 15 inspection machines, 2 Heidelberg Offset presses, 2 cutters, 10 folders, 1 booklet maker, and three stitchers. This included 5 managers and 153 people. Managing estimating, scheduling, purchasing, graphics, flexo production and Offset/Bindery production. Responsible for controlling the contribution margin of the P/L.
●Achievements:
oImplemented digital operations inside traditional Flexo reducing label cost a minimum of 10% with a shorter lead time on small quantity orders.
oImplemented digital operations inside a traditional Offset/Bindery operation reducing processing steps from up to 4 machines and five people down to two machines and two people. Reducing the cost per book by a minimum of 15% and turn around times on small quantity orders by 50% or more.
oDeveloped a long-term strategy for operational efficiency and growth.
oPerformed value stream and Process Maps of the front-end process to reduce order processing eliminating steps and time. Reduction of 30% of order entry time on new orders.
oDeveloped and implemented measurements in the production areas for operator training and development.

Lightning labels – A Cenveo company 2009 - 2012
General manager (Denver, CO)
A facility with approximately $7mm sales annually and aggressive growth producing prime labels for small business’ selling retail products such as private label programs, nutraceutical, spirits, etc. We specialized in small quantities, quick turns, and high profit. Responsibility for this digital printing label operation comprised of 2 HP Indigo WS4500’s, 3 die presses, and the finishing equipment. This included 3 supervisors and 20 people. Managing internet sales and marketing, customer service, purchasing, pre-press, order entry, production, operations, and shipping departments. Controls the P/L.
Achievements:
oGrew sales 19.1% and augmented average net income from 24.2% to 31.8%.
oReduced Cycle Time from order entry to shipping by 30%. This allowed us to ship same day or next day on most orders versus 2-3 days shipments.

Focused Factory Manager – Cohesives & metals (Tallapoosa, GA)
Managing all operations for the coating and printing of cohesive products and metals products. Developing more cost-effective ways to manage the operation using various methods including lean manufacturing. These operations represented approximately $16mm in sales annually producing cohesive products like napkin bands, decorative labels for the spirits industry, and specialty products for the food industry.
Started as the Business Unit Manager for the Print and Cohesives Departments which involved controlling the P/L for both areas. I was responsible for managing the marketing and sales activities involved with this business unit including developing marketing programs, collaterals, and travel with the sales force. Required monitoring operational processes and cost for improvement and alignment for proper market positioning.
Achievements:
oImplemented a Kanban system for WIP inventories reducing the inventory by 40%.
Ward/Kraft, Incorporated 1998 - 2005

A facility of approximately $17mm annually producing labels primarily for data processing. Responsible for the Kansas Labels Division comprising 8 presses, 3 supervisors, and 74 employees. Managed sales, customer service, purchasing, estimating, order entry, production, operations, and shipping departments. Implemented five new product lines or services. Justified equipment improvements and additions. Controlled P/L.
In 2004, selected to start-up and manage the Creative Technology Center for major capital decisions.
Achievements:
oImproved on-time deliveries from 94.6% to 97.8% while dropping lead times by 4.2 days.
oEnhanced the quality factor for a division from 87.8% to a record high of 96.5%.
oLowered press waste from 8.71% to 4.48% while increasing run time from 36.6% to 47%.

From 1996 – 1998 I administered a group of 18 presses and the finishing area of a plant producing combined revenues of $50M+ per year producing cut sheet and multi-part forms. Managed a three-shift operation with 3 supervisors and 120 employees. Established an exceptional safety record with only one lost-time injury in two years.
Prior to this I filled operational, Quality Management, Project Management, and special task force assignments in Oklahoma, Texas, and California.
