This project is done to one of the biggest education providers in Alberta. The scope is to replace existing voice communication and messaging system with Cisco based unified communication system that should be able to provide integrated and high availability voice messaging solution to faculty, staff and students. The real challenge with this project was client’s stakeholders. The client’s executive management wanted to be delivered within 3 months despite the huge number of users and voice applications development involved, meanwhile the client’s stakeholders are spread all over as well as holiday seasons make it impossible to actively communication with them to get all project requirements. One of the key success criteria for this project is the communication planning and management. Being project manager, I am putting great emphasis on communication planning and content that needs to be provided, as well as communicating project dependencies in advance to the client during project scheduling and planning phase.
