(Inspectorate Division) in their day-day activities. Conduct regular inspections at mining sites to ensure health, safety and compliance with all the L.I’s under Act 703, 2006 with a focus on Mining issues.
Conduct pre-license inspections and recommend to the Chief Inspector of Mines for approval/refusal of permits. Conduct investigations into incidents on the mines to ascertain whether there were any breaches to the LI’s and to make recommendations to forestall the occurrence of any such incidents.
Assist in arranging and conducting statutory examinations
(blasting, mine foremen, shift bosses, mine captains, etc) for qualified candidates from the mines.
Prepare routine reports (inspection, quarterly and annual) for all assigned mining companies.
