ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily monitoring of engine rework & analyzing defective parts

oIssue quality job order to communicate defects to the supplier

oAnalyze the in-house defects for part level deviations and take actions

oImplementing kaizens & poke yoke for preventing & detecting in-process defects

Audit & control process and product parameters

Daily monitoring of scrap & taking necessary actions

Daily monitoring of engine contamination & taking necessary actions

Review calibration of fixtures & measuring instruments

Educate workmen towards operator oriented defects & scrap

Conducting trials (Experimental job order) on change in part & process design and giving feedback for approval

Assess initial product quality during new product introduction & communicate FMEA to R&D team

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

Working towards cycle time reduction

Worked on achieving Zero engine rework in Engine assembly unit through SDCA

oUsed 7QC-tools to understand and analyze the problems.

oMapped the process flow and material flow and reduced dent & damage in parts through kaizens and poke yoke

oPrepared criteria for “Zero defect operator, certified workmen.

oIncreased the number of zero-defect operators through stage specific & multi stage training.

Reduced engine contamination by using QC methodology.

oEliminated carton boxes inside engine assembly by introducing Polypropylene boxes

oReduced burr contamination by introduced bottomless crates and introducing laser numbering process.

oReduced kitting crate burr contamination by modification of crate design

Preparation and Establish of SDCA documents for Assembly Lines

Derive the SDCA check list for solving the defects

Material handling improvement in Engine assembly

oIntroduced dedicated material handling facilities for engine parts

oImproved the in-process material flow by changing layouts.

oIntroduced single piece flow with the help of Jissen Dojo.
