Terminal Operations Officer

Supervised a twelve man team to coordinate the movement of over 45,000 pieces of military equipment to four European Ports during operation Desert Shield. Established, managed, and troubleshoot a system to track these movements via highway, rail, barges, and air to the ports expediting the successful loading of 107 vessels in 62 days.

Commander 97th Transportation Company

1990 – 1991

Commanded 157 soldiers, and six 175 feet long vessels. Consistently maintained 95% personnel ready for global deployment. Responsible for over 50 million dollars’ worth of equipment and managed a 100,000 dollars annual budget. Established a solid preventive maintenance program to achieve an Equipment Mission Capable Rate of 90% or better for both marine and ground equipment.

Logistics Transportation Officer

U.S. Army, Ft Riley, Kansas

1982 – 1990

Developed training strategies for transportations officers Basic and Advanced courses. Identified, and analyzed critical task for which leaders must be trained to be successful transporters and logisticians. Planned and coordinated the deployment of 19,000 soldiers and 3,100 pieces of equipment, rail loaded over 900 pieces of equipment for a Mechanized Infantry Division during REFORGER Exercise.
