Initiated Kaizen events that saved hundreds of thousands of dollars to Aera and Chevron oil field construction, investment recovery team (IRT) and mechanical projects. This was a major part of my job to work with crews and discuss, in the spirit of Kaizen, small incremental steps towards efficacy.

Assisted Environmental Health and Safety and Behavioral Based Safety divisions to reduce waste and ensure low Total Recordable Incident Rates (TRIR), losses, property damage and work related illnesses and injuries.

After incidents, I was part of the Gemba team where I would provide my expert genchei genbetsu evaluation.

Submitted monthly LSS reports (Pareto, Histogram, Spider, Kano) to Aera plant production and Investment Recover Team managers that included John O’Connnor, Stan Gomes, Bruce Roberton, Cory Wolf, Dewayne Ziegler, Mike Ohman, and Andy Anderson, Midway Sunset, Belridge, Coalinga, Lost Hills, San Ardo and Coalinga locations. Reporting not only discussed PCE (process cycle efficiency), A3 and successful Kaizens were also submitted.

Worked with Aera and Chevron management to implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies and principles.

Created Value Stream Mapping on special project, construction, IRT and mechanical projects and drafted processes through Time and Motion and Takt time studies to report and evaluate metrics on

“cpk” and “ppk” (continuous process capacity vs potential process capacity or planned vs actual) reporting.

Set up Measurement Systems Analysis and Gage R&R methodologies for data collection and evaluation for basic reporting.

Collected data and submitted Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reporting for evaluation.

Audited field staff to ensure their project binders were in order to include JSA, CW, Permits, PWPs, SOPs, and all pertinent job aids and that crew members had and, with them, up-to-date passport, training and certificate cards.

Required staff to properly Meet and Greet all none working personnel to work area.

Lead Lean Six Sigma training sessions to management and staff that included but not be limited to aspects of kaizen, 5S, TIMWOOD, FATIPO, Y(f)X, Kanban, PCE, COPQ, Hoshin Kanri, Balance Scorecards, Total Production Maintenance, Emyth, Theory of Constraints, Management by Objectives, and Total Quality Management.

Initiated methodologies to comply with ISO 9001 and 13485 and CFR standards.

Wrote and updated Operations Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Job Aids.

Wrote Lean Management Manual for training Lean methodology to staff. Education
