Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver strategies, plans and initiatives in line with national, local and other HSE legal requirements for the improvement of health and safety culture in the organization.
• Develop, implement and maintain departmental HSE, policy, supporting systems and procedures.
• Manage continual improvement by introducing innovative/strategic ideas and excellence in business processes aligned with the leading practices and framework of the organization.
• Build & maintain a strong relationship with Governmental Entities by acting as the main point regarding all HSE matters in other to facilitate effective business support by constantly being up-to-date with the latest local regulations to protect the business from financial loss (accidents, legal claims, violations, etc.).
• Provide HSE advice that supports and ensures leadership commitment to the right HSE culture and behaviours.
• Develop and communicate an annual action plan as well as develop a monitoring program to monitor and evaluate the success of the plan.
• Participate in management review meetings with top management.
• Management of health and safety of the contractor/sub-contractors throughout the project duration.
• Initiate and advocate the implementation of safe system of work/Best practices/programs that are sustainable for business continuity.

• Review and approve HSE plan, risk register, safety procedures/method statement and risk assessment.
• Develop and implement safety audit and inspection program for the management and operational systems and thereby develop action plans for implementing corrective and preventive measures.
• Lead safety walks of the project facility together with the top management.
• Accident/Incident investigation and development of the RCA report.
• Develop and ensure the implementation of Emergency Response Plans.
• Develop and ensure the implementation of safety induction program.
• Review and monitor daily and monthly HSE KPIs and analyze reports on various measurable factors against benchmarked figures and work with the team to create meaningful actions to achieve the agreed goals.
• Conduct Performance reviews, develop/create and communicate action plans based on the findings.
• Assist the Operation team to attain cost effective proposals
• Chair consultant-contractor HSE meetings.
• Verify the implementation of an effective Waste Management System (proper segregation and disposal of waste) and good Housekeeping Practices.
