Professional Duties and Resposiblities

§Assist the Security Advisor in coordinating all Security issue in the office/duty station and area of operation(AoR)

§Work closely with field staff in developing information networks and identifying key contact throughout NRC operating areas.

§Report to the Security Advisor on, analyze, and forecast potential threats which may change security situation for NRC in his area of operation.

§Prepare situation reports with recommendations as required.

§Submit weekly SitRep to Security Advisor.

§Support the security department at CO in conducting Rapid Risk Security Assessment and other areas assessment in AoR derived from program needs.

§Conduct site surveys in AoR or as requested.

§Track all incidents on Google Earth and relevant GIS maps.

§Maintain NRC related incident logs and file incident report in his AoR

§Maintain record of statistics of incidents of NRC operational areas.

§Maintain constant liaison activity LEAs, Security Forces and other key actors in their Area of operation.

§Helps to assess the security situation at the duty station and ensures adequate gathering and verification of security information that may be required for a proper analysis of the situation by the CEO

§Maintains regular contacts with Security Focal Points of other INGO agencies

§Helps in the preparation and review of the UN Security Plan;

§Supports actions during the implementation of the Security Plan, as required.

§Assists in reporting security incidents affecting US /US staff, offices and assets, and assists in the preparation of security reports, such as the Security Incident Report, the Security Assessments and the Quarterly Incident Report.

§Provides support in organizing and conducting training courses on security awareness and preparedness, and providing security orientation to newly assigned staff members. Conducts security briefings, as required.

§Maintains routine and confidential correspondence files/documents;

§Maintains a database on contact details in relation to host country security authorities;

§Arranges appointments, receives visitors, places and screens telephone calls and answers queries with discretion, and takes minutes and/or notes at meetings.
